Groovy Baby

 Tunic - Karen Kane, thrifted
Jeans - The Limited, thrifted
Boots - Dr. Marten, thrifted
Necklace - gift from Lynne
Jacket - Danier, gift from Sheila

A bit more thrifting than I ought to be doing lately, but when the thrifting gods smile upon you, you don't turn things away. My MIL learned that lesson this weekend when she passed something over, went back yesterday and it was gone!

I knew better and snagged two tops for $2.25 a piece, including this Karen Kane tunic. I love Karen Kane stuff, though it's rare to find it in the GW. I fell head over heels for the print. The colors, the starry-esque Aladdin feel of the whole thing (Aladdin is and will always be one of my top 4 Disney movies; along with Brave, Lion King, and The Little Mermaid).

I normally don't like to do jeans looks two days in a row, but it's stormy today, I'm aching like crazy, and pretty much none of my other pants fit comfortably right now. I needed my rugged waterproof Doc Martens to carry me through, too.

And speaking of BBs, I got to see my Brucey Lucy, my no-longer batfaced cat, my Brucey Baby! He and I have been on the outs for a few weeks or so, but yesterday he decided I was his favorite person again. We cuddled, we played chase, he harassed me through those holes in the back of the chair, he rubbed all over my legs, and generally was a big sweetheart. He is officially called "Brucey" now, he won't answer without the "eee" sound at the end. I forgot my camera so here are a couple of cell phone pics.

I also got lots of love from Spike. Despite technically having 5 cats, only 2 of them are "mine".. Even looking back through recent pictures, I can see who my little hams are.

  2. I love your tunic, that is a great find! I also love Aladdin, though I haven't seen it in quite some time. I have a hard time picking my top 4 Disney movies, but Aladdin would definitely be included in my list.

  3. You're dead right about riding a thrift wave; stuff just disappears the second you turn your back on it.

That tunic is so beautiful, and looks like it was custom made specifically for you. (And Gracey is right about the hair!)

  4. What a wonderful pattern - I love that it's even at the front. Nothing bugs me like a lopsided print!

AW, Brucey-woosey...I am a big sucker for a cute cat.

  5. That is a great shirt -- so glad you didn't pass it up! Our Zellers stores have been bought out by Target, and the last one in our city was selling off everything... plus some old stock from its (former) sister company that carried higher end brands. I decided $14 was too much to pay for a pair of red skinny jeans... and then two days later, when I decided they were, they were gone.

The tunic is perfection, that was a great find, I wouldn't have turned it down either. It fits you well and the colors are great. Oh and I am with you on the love of the Little Mermaid and the Lion King. Aladdin I do enjoy, but I love the other two more. I haven't seen Brave yet.

  15. "I can show you the world...shining, shimmering, spleeeendid!!!" I love Aladdin too, and all Disney movies. That's funny that Bruce needs the ee at the end of his name now. He looks like such a big cat now.
