Scifi Alice

Coat-dress - Kitchen Orange, gift from Sheila
Belt - Lauren Ralph Lauren
Tights - Sock Dreams
Mu Boots - Cydwoq

Therapy daaay. I like dressing up for going to therapy. I pick comfortable things, but also things that make me feel confident. I also freaking LOVE these tights.

I'm starting my 2013 shopping ban by breaking it three days into the new year. But c'mon it's always on those days where perfect items pop out of the woodwork and make you fall in love. I found this Alice blue J Peterman dress in a size 2 with a half-off tag color just SITTING there shining on the rack where someone had obviously put it back. I didn't even try it on before buying it. It fits like a dreamy cloud. I probably won't even shorten it. It makes me feel like a princess. Sure it's way too sweet, but I think my edgy hair keeps everything in balance.

Speaking of, I LOVE this hair cut. I'm going to keep it around for awhile. I also found a really awesome B.Moss skirt. It's also long a midi length, but it's hitched up in spots with awesome textural fabric that reminds me of something All Saints might have done. No pictures of that because I'm probably going to wear it Saturday to the Art Crawl - so you'll have to wait for that!

Anyway, a little bit of scifi space girl and little bit of dreamy wonderland. It's a good day.

(Also if you haven't seen Syfy's Alice, I recommend it. The main character wears FLUEVOGS!)

  3. Total sci-fi badass, again!

And, uh, yeah. 3 days in, and my closet shopping resolution has crumbled, but only for the duration of the amazing sales, where I have been knocking stuff off my list. I've decided to cut myself some slack on that. As for your dress -- sometimes they're just meant to be, and letting them go is a bigger mistake than snapping them up. That one's definitely worth it!

  10. It's always when we say we're going to slow down, cut back, stop shopping, etc..when the good stuff lands in our laps. Like the boots I just found while shopping for a desk. We're on slim pickens and I really shouldn't have done it, but hey, what's 15.00, right?
    I love those tights too!

  12. "Therapy daaay" + both these dreamy dresses = deeply awesome. I find too that my hairdo enables all sorts of floofy and ultra-feminine things which didn't suit me before - you are looking fantastic! "Sorry" about your shopping ban.

  15. Glad to hear you are keeping your haircut for a while, I really like it, I think it is the asymmetry that works so well on you.

Re: breaking the ban, I see today as a minor blip! But I have to say 'cutting back' rather than 'ban' as I will only rebel. Therefore I am going to London tomorrow and to a charity shop today with my friend (cross fingers), but other than that I will be cutting back on shopping...!

  16. I freaking love your tights too! And I love your new dress. You do shopping bans like I do, lol. I may have to get serious about it though pretty soon again. Save the monies.

  17. What a cute coat dress. Hey, bans are only guidelines, right? That was too good a buy to ignore.
