In typical fashion for January, the weather took a complete nosedive. Miserable drizzle, freezing, winter weather advisory, everyone gone crazy because people in the South don't know how to handle winter weather. But in spite of all this, my brilliant e-party is chugging right along. My email is filling up with party attendees - everyone is making me smile so big today.
Screw the birthDAY - I'm having a birthMONTH.
The cozy warm feelings travel on with leg warmers! and a $3 cashmere sweater. I normally don't have good luck thrifting cashmere, it's nearly always merino if I find good quality sweaters, but this one was beautiful. Perfect condition, buttery soft, 100%, cabling! Even though it's probably the heaviest sweater I own, there are the rare days when I need something this heavy. And hey, cashmere can be tossed in the washer with no ill-fate! (in my experience)
(Also fwiw, I am wearing a tank to protect the tats from itchy wool!)
Ooh what a warm looking sweater! I'd be wearing a tank under it too though, I just get sensitive to that kind of fabric, it would make me itchy. Love the bee necklace! And I am so glad that so far your birthMONTH is awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is lovely, and that necklace is so dang cool! I like how the honeycomb pattern kind of matches up with the stitches on your sweater.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a fine thrifting score! I do have pretty good luck with thrifting cashmere, but I also live in a place where you can wear sweaters for most of the year. I am all about the chunky knits lately, so naturally I adore that one on you. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthmonth! (Photo tomorrow!)
Yeah quality sweaters are hard to come by here, we hardly need them, but I'd rather own a few good quality than all the acrylic in the world.
DeleteYay, leg warmers! Brings me back to the '80s!
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is in a few weeks too and I always hated having a winter birthday! You'd be surprised by Colorado drivers in the snow--no one knows how to drive in it here either. Like it's always a huge surprise when Colorado gets snow LOL I can't wait for your e-party! I'm sending you my pic tonight as soon as I can. I love your leg warmers. I have some I've been wanting to break out as well--looks like it's a good time to do it!
ReplyDeleteAwesome look, awesome leg warmers, and yes- I think we all need a birthMONTH. :-) That sounds fun.
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is beautiful, even better that it is Cashmere. Love it.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to all the Party Atendees for your Birthday.
You can wash cashmere in the wash on delicate, but don't put it in the dryer! Block it out flat and let it dry naturally.
ReplyDeleteLove the leg warmers! And such a steal on your sweater!
You look super warm. I keep meaning to knit myself some leg warmers, once I finish the scarf I'm working on.
ReplyDeleteHoneybee necklace!!!!!
ReplyDeletelove.
Amazing sweater, cosy palette, and I LOVE how you rock legwarmers! Way to go on enjoying your birthday month, yippee!
ReplyDeleteYou just look so cool! I mean warm! That's a classic sweater, and it looks great with the little bit of white peaking out at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous! I love the sweater. So cozy looking. Perfect with skinnies and those leg warmers really pull is all together.
ReplyDeleteIt was 19F when I woke up this morning! Brrrr!
I like this look, it has a kind of tough girl, no-nonsense sveltness to it if that makes sense. Wool drives me crazy so I'm always wearing layers underneath.
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit on you!! Gorgeous sweater!
ReplyDeleteOh, talented jewelry maker, Megan's readers, including me, clearly want to know where we can get such killer (bee lol) necklaces :)
DeleteOMG, I LOVE this outfit! I never would have thought to layer legwarmers over skinnies, but it's amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour bee pendant is awesome. Love the honeycomb surrounding the bees. I was on the lookout for cool pendants last week in NYC (on vacation) but didn't see one that really caught my eye.
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderful! Love the bee necklace. Tamera is so talented!
ReplyDeleteI like the leg warmers too. Great in the winter. We are back to warmer weather after some bitter cold. I think I would prefer the weather to stay one way or the other, but this back and forth is hard to dress for.
Oh, you lucky lady, thrifting cashmere. The Thrifting Gods smile up you always :)
ReplyDeleteDrooling over bee necklace.
HI Megan, I have to ask- what shoe size are you?
ReplyDeleteHi Lorena, I wear a US size 6-6.5 or UK 36/37.
