Dress - vintage, thrifted
Badge - thinkgeek, gift
Lieutenant pins - gift from Debbi
Tights - Foot Traffic
Ride boots - Cydwoq
I only get to wear this dress a couple of times a year because the weather is rarely cold enough for a wooly turtleneck dress. But it sticks around for me to feel vintage-space-y. And now I get to have ranking pins to go along with my badge!! The dress is also too high waisted for most belts and too thick to layer, so I settle for mixing up tights and boots.
I got all trekked out to go shopping at the Goodwill today.
My Christmas giftcards/money has been burning a hole in my pocket, and I'm glad I went out today because I came out with a pair of green corduroys, brand new pair of loft jeans, a striped AE shirt, blue summer skirt, and a Moth sweater. Plus a bunch of new ties, so be on the lookout, I'll have brand new obi belts up very soon.
Have you already started spending your cards/money? Did you find any good post-holiday deals?

That is such a great dress! And it looks fabulous on you. I hope you thrift some great things.
ReplyDeleteAnd Happy New Year!
Gracey
I love this dress. So fun & unique and yes it looks a little bit like it came from Star Trek which I know you love. Your shopping spree also went well I think. Did you thrift all those amazing items?
ReplyDelete3 More days till a brand-new year.
Yes I did! Very lucky to have such a good thrift store.
DeleteThat dress was made for the pins amazing!
ReplyDeleteYep, as you've seen on my blog, I wasted no time spending my money and gift cards, lol. I'm all set for the rest of the winter!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your finds! And I always love this fun dress!!
I put them all straight into the wash, but hopefully I can get them into rotation asap!
DeleteI liked the way you did the multi-wrapped belts that time - it worked well, I thought. Love that you have your "dots" now! As you saw, I've been spending my gift money (plus some, bad Sheila), and I'm going to spend another gift card tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThe pins and badge make you look official :).
ReplyDeleteI like it with the belts, too, but the Trekkie badge is the next best thing. And your haircut looks great with this dress!
ReplyDeleteSo far I've only bought some make-up, but I can go slow because I have 5 days off! Smiley faces all around!
That's fun to see all your stylings in a row like that. Very unique dress, but somehow it's very classic too. And timeless really.
ReplyDeleteAmazing outfit! You could step into one of the ST movies (or be beamed into one). Love the whole look, the boots are great.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I'd need to swap my shirt before going into one though. (And technically I should have blue anyway being a medical person)
DeleteI love your outfit!!! So cute!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a chance to shop yet!!!!
Yay! I love when you wear this dress! I have dresses like that too--doesn't really work for remixing too much--but the dress itself is so special, I couldn't bare to part with it. I am actually finding myself alone in my house for the first time in YEARS this weekend. I see some thrifting in my future as well. Can't wait to see your scores!
ReplyDeleteAh!--you look awesome! I'm a huge Next Generation fan, but I love all things trekkie. The ranking pins really make it.
ReplyDeleteAlways love that dress!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get Christmas money, but I splurged on a couple pair of fab shoes. (I blame prego feet for their purchase.) and a few tunics on super clearance from old navy maternity. Damn, I've got to stop shopping!;0)
Oooh, I'm feeling a mind meld coming on as result of that awesome dress! I love, love, love it. I'm glad it was cold(!) so you could wear it. I look forward to seeing your new goodies.
ReplyDeleteThat red and black dress is so cute. Love that pin also.
ReplyDeleteGreat dress :-) I like your photo montage, particularly where you wear it with the belt. Can we see your new purchases please? My sale purchases included the wool dress you recc'd I get for winter parties -oh, and a tripod!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite dresses you have. I thought - Star Trek - as soon as I saw the photo today :)
ReplyDeleteHaven't done any post-christmas shopping yet but that may change today!
Awesome dress! Love seeing the previous stylings (and hairdos!). Sounds like a great thrift haul! I totally dove straight in to xmas money spending too - couple of vintage pieces from a new shop in the next town, several online orders, and once the no-shopping seal is broken, man it's hard to rein it back in, lol!
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! I am so thrilled to see the ST things being used rather than being stuff in a drawer. This dress is perfect for the ST additions.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done any shopping yet, except for one headband from eBay. Oh, and 2 pairs of boots from Amazon. I guess I have done some shopping! Ha
I've always loved this dress. You've got style, buddy. Real style.
ReplyDeleteThis dress is so amazing... how have I missed this one???
ReplyDeleteI'll be hitting up the Goodwill next week when I go see my family and I can't wait! Sounds like you came home with quite a haul. I love this dress. SO awesome.
ReplyDeletered in black or black in red?
ReplyDeletelove this combination
