I'll Be Blue

Dress - blu heaven, thrifted
Cardigan - LH Sport, thrifted
Cotton lined wool tights *- MP via Sockdreams
Boots - Arche
Hat - Target

It's officially winter, well by my standards. It starts with a cold rain and wind, and ends in these twilight days where it's grey from November to April. You'll be seeing me in a lot more pants-based looks until it warms up, but I tried to combat the winter blues by stocking up on high quality tights over the summer (when things are on sale! Always shop off season!) These particular tights are some of my favorites. Thick like socks, but stretchier than your average leggings, plus a double seamed tush panel means no tights-dance mid day.

I am getting excited for the challenge next week. I know many got geared up expecting it to be this week, but hopefully it will give those who are on the fence about signing up or new readers plenty of time to sign up for the challenge. If you want to join us, just click the badge in my sidebar to take you to the Challenge. Have you joined up yet?

Loving peppermint tea becoming my constant companion this week.

  2. I liked the striped tights! November is definitely the start of winter to me, even though we don't have snow yet.

  3. Yes, I've been gravitating towards pants looks since it has gotten colder, but I am forcing myself to wear skirts because I have tights I can wear too!

I LOVE your striped tights. And the hat. That is one thing I could use more of - stylish yet functional winter hats.

I am very excited for the challenge next week!

  4. I love cloche hats, too - so jealous of peeps that can wear them. Love the blues and grays, and the Arche boots. I'm wearing blue today, too :)

  9. Sipping on peppermint tea as I type this! I laughed about double seamed rush panels -- I totally remember those from being a kid so I call all my tights with them my "little kid tights". And only half of those were actually bought in the kids section!

  10. You were made for cloche hats! The only thing I miss about my bobbed hair was how cloche-friendly it was. And heck yes, buying off-season is the way to go. Awesome tights!

  11. Awesome cloche and boots, Megan! I saw that you're watching the Spice Kittens - aren't they too adorable at this stage? I want to smooch them.

  12. Your cuteness hurts me! :-p I seriously love this look. That cardigan is amazing, I thought it was a jacket at first!

  13. WTF? No midday tights dance in here? I'm bummed and disappointed, I tell ya. Oh well, your ensemble today is wonderful, one of my favorites on you I must say. I'm going to go get a spot of tea now.

  16. First of all I hope you are feeling better after a sicky-poo weekend. Despite you dealing with the cold temps over there, you have been looking lovely lately.

I love every single item you have on here, especially the dress, tights and hat. That blazer-like cardigan feels so rich & warm. Ohhh and I am definitely looking forward to the fashion challenge next week and even planning outfits in my head. LOL

  17. Lovely outfit, a cool and modern take on a kind of flapper-girl style. The hat really suits you. I struggle with hats a little...

  20. Ever awesome, Megan! I'm mad for the mix of horizontal details and curves, not to mention great colours. Wow! I was one of the ones who got the Challenge dates wrong (fixed now!) - but it's exciting, being just the thing to get me caught up and boost my post frequency for a bit. Hooray!

You do have the most heartwarming teacups. :)
