Crash

Tank - Ann Taylor, thrifted
Skirt - thrifted
Sandals - Poetic Licnese
Belt - All Saints, gift from Ana

Fridays are great because I've only got afternoon classes. It's an especially good thing because I struggled to wake up this morning. And when I got out of class, I grabbed an order of tacos and double rice to go from the local Mexican restaurant. I promptly ate almost all of it and then fell asleep for an hour. Awesome news that my appetite seems to be returning, but I think I need to convince myself to go to bed a little earlier.

I thought I was done with sandals, but the heat has returned with a vengeance. I already had this outfit planned out for today, and Ana's gifted belt make the perfect completer piece. The belt is white leather and rope twisted and studded with metal clips. I may wear it backwards next time. I also finally found a chain short enough to wear the sunburst necklace that Lynne gave me at our meet up. As expected this skirt is already a favorite.

I've been trying to ease into my autumnal clothes, but it's still too hot. Supposedly cooler temps are coming this weekend, I remain hopeful.

Edited to add: For those who didn't catch it yesterday, I did a "paper doll" for Wendy Brandes.

  4. Oh, I am so glad you had a day which could accommodate a bit of a re-set button on food and sleep. It is hard to dress seasonally appropriate when the actual temperatures aren't seasonal, but you manage beautifully. Also, your WendyB paper doll is seriously amazing - wow!

  6. Love your paper doll illustrations! Paper dolls were one of my favorite pastimes when I was a kid. My sister and I loved making the clothes holding the paper doll up to the window so we could trace her body over and over making sweaters, dresses, pants, etc...Ours looked no where near the fabulous-ness of yours though.
I love your mix of fabrics here Megan!

  7. Yes, as the temperatures are still in the upper 90s down South, doesn't even feel like fall. Keeping my fingers crossed for a cool front on Sunday!

  8. That skirt is my favorite, too, as is that Ann Taylor blouse.

I meant to comment in your last post that I'm glad you love the bio class/lab. The Teen is planning to major in biology in college, and is taking AP Biology this year, as well as anatomy. I always loved biology, but hated chemistry (too much like math).

  9. You look like a gorgeous dessert -an Eton Mess (although you are anything but a mess!). What a great colour. Glad you have done Wendy in her favourite black tee and jeans but also her stripey dress, I love that dress on her.

  13. Sometimes a nap is a great thing and I am glad to hear your appetite is coming back. I love the mix of colors and prints in this look Megan! After getting back from Aruba, Colorado feels like an ice box! So I might be able to pull off some fall stuff this week!
