Suede Jacket - Danier, gift from Sheila
Dress - Allen B, thrifted
Boots - Frye, ebay

Sheila and I don't swap with each other, instead we've been shopping for one another - on opposite sides of two countries, for months. I recently found these Tsubo sandals in her size for $6. She's sent me a number of goodies (including everyone's favorite yellow skirt) - and Saturday, this gift showed up in my mailbox.

I was originally hunting a denim jacket to add to my slowly growing arsenal of jackets. I thrifted one, but ultimately gifted it to a friend because it wasn't quite right. Sheila found this denim-colored suede jacket that is absolutely perfection for these 60F winter days (seriously, anyone else concerned over the weather?) - and it's a better alternative to denim in my book. I'm all giddy over how soft it is, how incredible the fit, and how perfectly it's going to fit into my wardrobe.

I enjoyed a great weekend of writing, watching movies, and even had a lunch out with mom (thanks to Christmas giftcards!). Life may not always be perfect, but right now, it's awesome.

Speaking of Sheila and her awesomeness - go check out her early Layer Up! week for inspiration. Also check out Elsita over at The Hidden Seed - She combined two things I'm excited about Red and Grey AND Dress over Pants.

  1. That jacket looks like it was made for you. Great fit. Isn't it awesome how blogging allows us make friends all over the world?

The 60 degree weather should be more troubling, but I think everyone's just glad to have a break from the cold and snow. We won't start to worry until people burst into flames on the sidewalk. :(

I was worried about our weather up until last week and now we're having a very typical winter for MN and I'm already tired of it, ha!

  12. Some people, like you and Sheila, must have a special super power in thrifting. That is an incredible jacket. It does fit you like it was made for you and it looks very expensive. I agree it is much better than a plain denim jacket.
I am so glad life is awesome for you right now and I hope it stays that way.

  14. Ooh, it looks so wonderful on you, Megan! Now I know your exact upper body fit...I'll find more stuff for you!

I find so many great Danier pieces in thrift and consignment stores - a lot of it is 80s (the leather pants are hilariously high-waisted), but still in really good condition. Wait till you see the Goth jacket I'm wearing tomorrow!

  18. Love that jacket, (the fitted waist is so Sheila style). Yeah, we're worried about the weather, 70F and above for the past week plus, of course warm winters make for a warm Gulf of Mexico which makes stronger hurricanes, ugh.
