Whackadoodle Wednesday

Top, Skirt, Boots (Ebay) - All Saints
Cuff - vintage via Mom
Belt - thrifted

So I went for a hair cut. It's been about 2 1/2 months since my last one and I was getting frustrated by the back of it that was growing about a half an inch every week while the front stayed pretty much where it was. Admittedly, I got a GREAT cut from a super awesome hairstylist (Mastercuts, I never get anyone's name because they don't take appointments, and my cuts are random done). I feel bad because I tend to babble about my hair when getting a cut. I hope it's not annoying, but since I have started doing, I always get the cut I want. Edited to add: Pics of new 'do won't be until tomorrow.

Today's outfit was pre-cut. I've been meaning to wear these two pieces together. I bought both pieces because I felt they created some wardrobe continuity. I had never intended to really put them together, but I actually really love this. I'm also usually not one to wear everything from one store to avoid looking like a walking advertisement.. but throw caution to the wind, break silly self-imposed rules!

Also query - what color do these pieces read to you? (I see purple)

Bonus detail shot of these boots, metal horse shoes in the soles!

  4. I see purple or charcoal. I love that you paired these two together! It looks like an awesome dress! And your hair is great! I babble on about my haircuts too, but that's usually because I only cut my hair once a year. Don't feel bad!

  5. Those boots - so insanely cool! I've always loved the Ann. D boots but who can afford them?!? The pieces work awesome together - I guess I would call it a purple-based dark grey (rather than a stark white grey or a more yellow grey)

  12. @ Everyone - thanks for your input on color! I see the clothes as purple until I really look at them and then they're grey. Weird.

  20. Ok, I got curious. So totally digging your look so I checked out your profile. I have to admit it made me smile to see Infected Mushroom listed. Your entire list is diverse, which makes you totally awesome! Yay! I actually saw them play in a small venue about 9 years ago is San Francisco.

  22. Mind-bending boots! I love the steel; but you need some on the heels, too! It's very cool to hear a Tapgirl walking with authority, as they did 50 years ago in high school and college. One preacher's son even had steel pony shoes nailed to the heels of his Beatle Boots, around 1965. Teachers hated it! And those gorgeous majorettes...they all had big dance taps on their boots, as if to shout, "Hey guys...over here!" You may create a new trend in young women's footwear: the Steel Bottomed Boot!
