Shopping Ban Update: 11/27/11

So it's been a little over a week before starting my shopping ban. (Check my side bar under the Ban tag for more information about my shopping ban). I have to say it hasn't been hard, but it's partly because of the holiday season. I'll admit I did cave and bought this cuff from icing - it ran me all of $2 because of Black Friday sales. I also paid with pocket change - literally.

Quitting shopping cold turkey is never effective, so I let the small purchase slide. I have instead immersed myself in projects, spending times with friends and family.

My best suggestions - don't window shop! Stop those e-letters advertising the latest sales. Stay off the sites about trends. Instead try checking out these time wasters* if you really need something to do on the computer:

attack of the cute
cute overload

Got any others to add to this list? I guarantee a good squee over cute things or laugh will brighten your day as much as window shopping!

  1. I hear ya lady! Something that I did the other night was I put together a bunch of outfits to prove to myself that I don't NEED anything new!

  2. That cuff was definitely worth breaking the shopping ban for! It is awesome! One of our favorite websites for a good laugh is:

If you like cats and stupid sayings, it's worth checking out. Hope you had a great holiday!

  3. That is a fab little cuff! I agree about shopping bans (and most bans) -- if they're too strict, they just don't stick. : >

  4. The cuff is cute, and I think a $2 accessory is a good treat during the ban.

  5. Awesome cuff! And being on a shopping ban means you deserve a little treat now and then :)

  6. Your $2 cuff beat my Black Friday (weekend) treats by a long shot. But I had already promised myself this weekend off, so I took advantage of it. I'm in full shopping ban mode now, though. No pre-planned treat weekends to look forward to :)

Thanks for reading. Got something to say? I'd love to hear it!
