Speak Up

 Jacket - Thrifted
Top - Como Petites, thrifted
Pin stripe Trousers - Gap, thrifted
Shoes - Eject, ebay
Trying to channel the lovely Ee of Eek!'s professionalism today. I had my last speech for speech class, and I always try to dress up professionally. You can see my other two speech outfits: here and here. I loved this outfit. I felt so streamlined and lady-like (in a suit of all things). Even though I don't work in an office, I love having the inspiration from many levels of dress.

After my speech, the teacher asked if I knew about Naked Without Us: Fashion & Music Festival. No way! I hadn't heard of it, but it sounds like a fabulous event. If anyone in the Middle Tennessee (Or Southern KY) area might want to meet up and see some local designs - toss me an email. I'm going to try and go at least one night and write up a post about it.

  2. What a perfect way to do professional and streamlined while still remaining feminine! And of course I love the subtle pattern mixing with the stripes in the jacket and the pattern of the top underneath. Just love it!

  5. Speech was on of the toughest classes that I took in college. You definitely pulled off the professional look.

  6. @ Rebecca - It's definitely been my hardest so far. Even my math class was easier.

  7. It's amazing how putting on a tailored suit (or suit pieces, as in your case) can make one feel so much more confident.

I hope your speech went well - I did Toastmasters for a while, and I know how tough those speeches can be! This is a great skill that you will be able to use your whole life.

  8. I am again impressed by your growing-out-hair-and-cutting-it-yourself skills! You're making my desire for short hair seem more plausible, since you're making growing it out seem so effortless!

It's a great outfit! You look so tall!
