Goth Workin' Girl

Dress - Calvin Klein, thrifted
Heart felt pin - gift from Sheila
Bracelets (2) - Target, vintage
Army Flats - Trippen

What's a girl to do when it's hot outside and she's gotta work? Toss on an uber cute dress and comfort flats. I snagged this dress last week. The material feels like a french terry sweat-shirt. Stretchy and soft, and a little bit goth. Years ago, I would have never worn these shoes with this dress because they're brown and the dress print is black - but dude, Lynne changed my life when she convinced me to wear them with black anyway.

I'm really super excited today because I'm working with my boss, Lacey, to get some of the better vintage pieces up on an etsy shop! We have so many nifty things, it's like being in a sweets shop. I just have to keep my eye on the prize and not take everything I love home. Though it is just as exciting for me to know that other people will be getting such good deals. Plus tattoo!

  1. BAM. Amazing. I suck at wearing pins and brooches, but seeing other folks (like you and Gracey and Lynne) rock them makes me want to try again. Anyway, brown totally goes with the outfit because it's like the color of dried blood!

    1. I never wore them until I got a huge bunch of them from other people. I try to deploy them because I have sooo many interesting ones.

  3. What Mia said, but D instead of B and add an N at the end. You look ridiculously beautiful. I don't think I ever got the whole brown never with black thing, although I refuse to wear white shoes after Labor Day. Or Ever.

Can't wait to see the Etsy shop!

I like white sandals, but still never found the right pair. So I guess I agree with you!

  8. LOVE this look! :-) AND I AM SO JEALOUS OF THE BROOCH! I wear a little anatomical heart button on my battle jacket next to the ant button flower you made me. Again, we are twins. I'm convinced.

  9. I love that dress, and the pin was made for it! The shoes looks good, too. It's hard to see the color exactly in the photo, but they look fine.

  16. Wonderful! It took me AGES to mix brown and black, and now I do it shamelessly all the time. Good on you for getting started early. That dress suits you so much; very lady-like and professional, but just enough edge to make me think it's totally you.
