Oatmeal Sweater

Sweater - Evan Picone, thrifted
Jeans - Joe's Jeans, thrifted
Belt - gift from Debbi
Boots - Dr. Marten Gamma, thrifted
Earrings - gift from Lynne
Coat - Alorna, thrifted

I've been told, repeatedly, that I look wretched in oatmeal. Well, I'm pretending this sweater is taupe, or khaki, or fawn... but it was too soft for me to leave behind. I'm sure many people passed over it because of the color. Their loss! I like it. Especially the knit pattern and the neckline.

Plus I accidentally ruined my last fisherman sweater by putting it in the wash with something red. There's a reason the DH usually does the washing and sorting part of the laundry. I usually fold and do the dryer stuff.

We had a very windy and cold night last night, and this morning was one for staying curled in bed. I have class tonight so I figured boots and a sweater would suit me just fine. I added these little mouse earrings from Lynne for a wee bit of cuteness. Short hair makes me like wearing earrings more.

Also Sherlock coat!! Because it is cold and this thing is wooly and long and basically a blanket masquerading as a coat.

  1. I don't know why people say oatmeal is bad on you - I think it looks pretty good! I can tell by looking at it that the sweater is soft - I wouldn't want to leave it behind either! And eee, Sherlock coat! That looks soooo warm!!

  2. Yay for your Sherlock coat! I cannot believe people have told you that! The first thing I wanted to comment on was how nice these colors look on you! I think those people were color blind or something. At any rate, I love your sweater and the jeans AND the boots!!!!

  4. Your new sweater look really cozy, and I see no problem whatsoever with the color (except the name, oatmeal, cause who wants to wear oatmeal?) : > Love the petite earrings.

  6. A rose by any other name....etc etc etc!!! You look perfect to me, as always. I can't believe you thrifted your shoes!! The coat is fab. I wore a big cape today, sort of in the same vein. Hope your class went well. XXOO

  8. I think the oatmeal is a little blah on you - sorry, gotta be honest. I can't wear the damned colour either! But if you love it, then wear it!

    Adore the Sherlock coat!

  9. Maybe if you threw in some colour up by your face? I still like it though. I think that belt is awesome :)

  11. I've been told I don't look great in beige and white, but that doesn't stop me from wearing them. It's more important to have fun. Just because other colors look "better" doesn't mean you should stop wearing what makes you feel good.

  12. I like the oatmeal sweater & that coat is awesome. However maybe try shortening it a little bit. I think I would prefer the coat more if it was about 6 inches shorter. You have a thin frame so this coat sort of eats you up.

  13. Who told you that you look wretched in oatmeal? You look fantastic, especially with your dark hair. That belt is too cool. I did love those witty earrings for a cat lover. I didn't even know that I was one until Sasha Jane took over my life. She spends more and more time in my company, and I can't imagine life without her.
