Frequently in the blog-o-sphere, we discuss gender and clothing and how it affects our identity. How masculine fashion is difficult, limited, or "boring", how men don't understand why women do X or Y related to their looks. But really, guys, don't count yourselves out. Men's fashion may not have the array of choice and media attention, but you can certainly look smooth and put together.
I've talked a bit recently about my "boy-self" and who I might have been.. well I don't have to guess too hard because the boy version of myself already exists. My brother.
Browsing around his non-fashion related tumblr , I realized he had some major style goin' on. So big thanks to him for letting me to
From casual to dressy, he makes a statement in subtle ways that all come together to reflect a sense of personal style .
From different glasses frames to hats to unique tie knots (see: pic 4), he uses details to bring his own flair to his look.
Even from a limited color palette, he uses pattern and and layering to bring interest and personality to his looks. Even with this "mini-capsule", I can already see a half dozen other looks that can be put together by mixing and matching.
Do you have any fashionable fellas in your life? Are you a fashionable fella yourself? I enjoy men's fashion and think it's a highly underrated area in the fashion world!
Give a big shout out of thanks to James!
