No I don't mean underwear, just wearing my pants (or trousers) under my dresses. The storms blew through last night, knocking things around. We had a pole and some limbs down in the neighborhood, but otherwise we're safe and fine.
However it was still really windy today so I didn't want any mishaps with a fullskirt, so pants. This dress is desperately underutilized in my closet. It's perfect for layering, but I don't know what kept me from doing so. Any good ideas for this dress?
Also I thought you guys might be interested in actually seeing the Pink Watermelon! She's got her happy face back on (left), green keyboard and ear buds, with a shiny new not-possessed mouse with black polka dots in lieu of seeds. I also finally got my paintings hung up. I wish I could say that's my desk 'messy', but that's it on a clean day. I'm hyper organized, but never seem to have enough spots for everything.
Glad you survived the windstorm!
ReplyDeleteI love the dress layered over pants! Gives the dress an edge. I've done it before, it adds a lot of warmth too!
Fun picture of your desk and the "pink watermelon". :)
We had terrifically strong winds as well. The garbage bins were emptied this morning, and about half of them ended up getting knocked over and blown all over the place. (I got mine in and secured quickly, thank goodness.)
ReplyDeleteI love the shape of that dress, and how you've got it styled. And it's cool to see where the MMD Magic happens!
Great dress! And great layering. I'm a huge fan of pants under dresses (and dresses over pants) and this is perfect.
ReplyDeleteYou look BEAUTIFUL! The dress over the pants works great. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool dress and has the same vibe as a lot of your interesting shoes. I see yellow with it, but many colors would look great underneath or as tights.
ReplyDeleteYou're lookin' good out here in the front of your house?
Fantastic outfit, I love the dress over jeans. Like Joni, I think it would look great with some of your fierce colour combos - raspberry, orange, turquoise, lime. It might be cool to layer a longer skirt underneath, especially if you have a more fitted one, and possibly balance the volume with a wider belt?
ReplyDeleteSo cool to see your workspace! Go, watermelon, go! Keep smilin'!
I'm so glad that you are safe! I agree that this dress looks great for layering. It's got some great dimensions and details to it. I love the photo of your desk and the "watermelon" is so cute--what a fun mouse!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is such an interesting shape, definitely good for layering. Glad that your little watermelon is back up and running.
ReplyDeletePhew -- glad you didn't blow away! I love when a skirt can be paired with pants, or any other not-usually-thought-of-but-still-works garment. All about avoiding the wardrobe malfunction due to fickle mother nature!
ReplyDeleteThis post isn't nearly as scandalous as the title made it seem. :) Can computers be adorable? Well, yours is. Glad everything seems to be working now.
ReplyDeleteI know, I'm such a party-pooper. ;)
DeleteI think you have styled this dress perfectly today. Perhaps it needs some printed tights?:) I so love your boots too. I even tried to look them up on eBay.
ReplyDeleteTee hee - under pants! Cute!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you layered this all up, but you could also try, oh, I don't know, maybe an obi belt made from ties? I also like Amber's suggestion for a skirt under the dress. How about a big loose sweater on top and pull the dress collar out over the top?
I don't know which is cuter, you or the computer :). I think you are.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE PURPLE!!!! This is a great combo!
ReplyDeleteGreat dress- and I'm not sure there's a better solution than yours. Dresses blow up, pants make you modest. Pink watermelon looks spiffy for a 'puter, nice.
ReplyDeleteI love this versatile dress; isn't this the one with the very versatile collar? You got a lot of great suggestions from the experts. I feel I must try it on to brainstorm :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you guys are safe and that the computer is back in business.
Love that dress. The neckline is so cool.
ReplyDeleteMegan, that dress is great! I have items too, that I come across in my closet and then wonder -- so why am I not using that enough? :) Your desk looks ultra clean! You should see my office. Good grief. It's a danger zone!!

When people wonder why I do not wear dresses it is apparent they have never lived in Kansas. For us, a really windy day is one where the wind is blowing about 40mph. If we have 10 or 15 mph winds that is almost like no wind. It doesn't take much to lift a skirt and I have had that happen!
ReplyDeleteI think you styled the dress quite nicely. I think it would look great with a black tee underneath to give it more a space girl vibe.
I love it every time you wear this dress & any and all ways you have worn it. Love it. It is a unique dress and you always find a fantastic way to make a different outfit out of it. =)
