Velvet Shirt - Cloud, thrifted
Skirt - H&M, thrifted
Tights - Foot Traffic via Sockdreams
Ride Boots - Cydwoq
Scarf - gift from Ee
Further evidence I don't need to be shopping - Everything from the skirt up has only been worn once. I found this awesome plus sign shirt last winter and avoid wearing it because I *think* it doesn't fit. Even though every time it goes to the donate pile, I try it on and it fits perfectly.
Despite feeling like a slug this morning, I got up and put on the outfit I had picked out. It took about an hour before I felt human again, and I made it to my afternoon class on time.
Somehow I've become a scarf person. Apparently all it takes is for me to amass a mini-collection before I realize that I have a lot of under utilized accessories. This scarf from Ee is perfectly lovely, but I couldn't figure out how to tie it. Solution: Don't! I just slung it over my shoulders.
I find a lot of my issues these days are solved by simply not worrying over them. Hope this Monday finds you in good places. If not, don't worry. It'll get better.
Have you seen that 25 ways to tie a scarf in 4 minutes video on YouTube? I use that all the time. I have a ton of scarves that don't get near enough exposure. I love your top Megan! The plus signs are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThis shirt is awesome and I think it looks great on you. I also love the skirt!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great time of year for scarves. Even untied it adds a lot of warmth and color! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the plus sign top! I'm glad you haven't gotten rid of it yet, I always like seeing you wear it! I like that you kept the scarf simple too. Sometimes less is more!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, life is too short to always be worried about every little thing!
I love your adorable red skirt; I'm a sucker for red skirts.
ReplyDeleteI became a scarf person without realizing it too. It started with a cashmere scarf and I've gone crazy ever since.
You need to keep that top--it looks amazing on you!!
ReplyDeleteI've held onto it, just need to dig through my closet and come up with some outfits to wear it with.
DeleteI don't tie my scarves too. I like to believe it lengthens me and makes me look taller. :) I agree that some issues are solved by not worrying about them. Really, we could all stand to do less worrying.
ReplyDeleteI love this shirt; it looks like puzzle pieces. I do that all the time with donate items, in, out, in, out. I agree. Sometimes we over-think things :P
ReplyDeleteHey, same here. I don't do anything with scarves. Just put them on. Done. Yours looks great. Isn't it great when you have "realizations?!"
ReplyDeleteOooh, velvet! Now there's a fabric I don't have nearly enough of.
ReplyDeleteWith scarves -- and I have oh so many -- I most often just loop them once and let the ends hang. I also like just draping them as you have here.
The whole outfit is super cute! And worrying sucks, and we should all do less of it, since fretting really doesn't help, I think.
I feel I need to do a set of plus and minus-sign stud earrings to go with your top!
ReplyDeleteThat would be incredibly cool!
Deletevery cute outfit. I love that plus sign shirt and that red skirt!
ReplyDeleteI have that problem with clothes- I'll think something is too tight but when I try it on to donate it, it fits fine and I keep it. Only then I still never wear it.
Don't worry, be happy. Don't tie, just fling. Don't stress, just dress. It all works out perfectly. I can't wait to see Wendy's earrings inspired by you. That's what it's all about.
ReplyDeleteP.s. I didn't forget you. The check will be in the mail tomorrow. Things got a little crazy this week. XXOO
Love the turquoise and red combined here - that plus shirt is so cool!
ReplyDeleteThat print is really fun. I like the sky blue and bright red together.
ReplyDeleteI like your positive attitude on a Monday. Great way to start the week. And you look adorable. Loving the scarf and I like that it just hangs, not tied.
ReplyDeleteI find it's the opposite with me - stuff I swear fits never does when I put it on! Glad you've got more closet karma!
ReplyDeleteThat print is so perceptually-vibrationally excellent, and I love that great blue scarf with the red. Ha! Another non-scarf-tie-er! Good for you for hauling yourself out into clothes and into your day - I can totally relate. :)
