Moon Pin - gift from Debbi
As much as I adore orange, finding good quality interesting orange pieces isn't easy. So right now I have only a few things, one of which is this tee. I realized it made a perfect pairing for my tiffany blue cords. And of course had to add my moon pin to my 'nebula/lightning storm' tee shirt. I've really gotten obsessed with tie-dye in the past year. The organic shapes really appeal to my artistic sense.
I've been trying to work with my natural hair texture. It's hard to curl, hard to straighten. And never wants to look the same way twice. I don't like using a lot of product and I've been trying to opt for more natural options in my daily routines. I've been using olive oil as a moisturizer, tea tree oil shampoo, henna, and burts bees lip balm with no other make-up. My skin is happier lately than it has been in the past, but my hair is still trying to find it's happy place.

I am so jealous of those awesome cords! They are a wonderful color and look so nice with the orange! The moon pin is super cute too!
ReplyDeleteI'm struggling with my hair too - it's so short, I don't know if I should grow it out or keep maintaining the short style. What I know is today, I don't love it! The perk of the short hair - I don't have too dry or too oily hair for the most part!
Yeah, my favorite part of short hair is it dries quickly and it's easy to take care of. But it's hard to make it look different.
DeleteI love those cords. I have been looking for some pants that color for quite some time. Great color combo!
ReplyDeleteI love that tee - I'm a big fan of orange! My big warm winter coat is orange and every time it gest reeeeeeeeal cold and I wear it, I'm aware of how much I stick out in the sea of grey and black coats. I just started using Moroccan Oil on my hair like a month ago after hearing about it forever and I love it - it makes my hair so soft and my curls don't tangle as much!
ReplyDeleteI was drawn instantly to those fab cords--stunning color and i love it with the pumpkin/orange in your T!!!
ReplyDeleteI am soooooooooo over my hair too. Are you going to go back to pink again any time soon? I like to live vicariously through your ability to have awesome colored hair. I love your cords! They are a great color!
ReplyDeleteGreat colour combination of blue and orange. I like the life in your hair, mine is easy to look after (short) but very fluffy. Glad you are getting to grips with skincare, I have found a good sensitive skin range recently that has sorted out dry patches but also spots. I am always happier when my skin is too...
ReplyDeleteI support you in the need for more orange items!
I absolutely love the top. Actually the whole thing. And I'd love to see the moon pin closer. It looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteI love orange too.
ReplyDeleteThe pants is so nice, i want one in this color too.
and cords are soooo comfortable!

We have the same hair, separated by a couple of decades and an ocean. On the upside, I have absolutely no grey yet!
ReplyDeleteI love Tiffany blue. Just the definitely the blue side of duck's egg (which I also love) but edging into that territory. It looks great with orange!
Have you tried a salt spray? I'm continuously shocked by it. I made my own so you could likely engineer it with more natural ingredients. It really does change the texture of hair. Or maybe the definition. I'm not good with hair words! It would definitely play with the waves you have.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute. Our hair is something that seems to always be in flux: sometimes it's terrific, other times it's terrible. Hair is affected by so many variables.
ReplyDeleteI love the orange paired with those green pants - adorable combination for our "pumpkin" day. You and Keely did the same thing!

Wonderful Fall colors, MM! Put me in the love-those-cords group too. I really like the way your hair just bends, and of course that's the kind of hair I coveted most of my life! Now I embrace my fuzzy curls and, like you, stick to the most natural products for it.
ReplyDeleteI'm fanning up for those cords, too. They are really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBurt's Bees is often my go-to lippy, too :P
Loving that jacket!
ReplyDeleteI love the colour of the cords. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI have started using sulfate free shampoo and conditioner - I like Avalon (don't know if you have it in the US). It smells like mint and is a bit tingly. Oooh...
This colour combination is amazing! So great how your eyes and glasses frames pick up the blue-green.
ReplyDeleteIt's challenging but so worth it to persist in finding the hair cut / care products that work for you. I hate that so much stuff marketed as health & beauty is poisonous - awesome to be decreasing products!
I like the blue cords! I use Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray when I want to wear my hair wavy. I know lush makes a natural version of the surf spray, and it would probably be easy to DIY if you tried.
ReplyDeleteI applaud you for your efforts!! It's worth it. I've stopped the dying, although every day I'm tempted to try something radical. (I reserve the right to change my mind!) I really want to find a way to put away the blow dryer/flat iron. I'm working on it. Once the dye is grown out, i figure I'll rediscover my natural texture.
ReplyDeleteThe colors in this outfit are striking. I'm following your color challenge even though I can't get it together to participate. XXOO
Freudian slip "dying". Let's try "dyeing" instead.
ReplyDeleteI love your T! It really reminds me of the tights from your last post. And orange and blue are a fave combo. Your challenge is great - sadly, I don't think have anything, or very, very little, in the challenge colours... Waaa. I'll look again.
ReplyDeleteCute. Love your cords. And the tights from yesterday could be sisters with your tie-dye tee. =)
ReplyDeleteanother winning color combination :)
ReplyDeletei applaud you for keeping your hair as natural as you can - I do my best with that as well, although I have been coloring it for year now and can't stop because I gotta hide the white hairs ;)!!
very cool outfit. love top and brooch. pants are awesome as well
ReplyDeleteYea, first thing I thought of is your T matches your tights. cool. Nice combo with the cool green cords.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been able to get it together to post daily for the challenge, even when I have the color clothes to do it. Just not that disciplined, it seems. I love seeing what people do though.
