When It Works

Blouse - Simply Vera, thrifted
Belt - gift from Sheila
Skinnies - Joe's Jeans, thrifted
Mu Boots - Cydwoq

The greatest thing about editing my closet down has been the ability to grab and go. Yesterday, I had to be with the DH for a dental appointment, which involved about four hours down in Nashville waiting around. I spent most of my time in the car park, because otherwise, people who did not remember to bring something to do while waiting wanted to interrupt my reading. And I have a Bio test tonight so I took advantage of the time to study.

Like most Wednesdays, I needed to be as comfortable as possible. Cydwoq boots, Simply Vera, and Joe's Jeans came to my rescue. Adding a mold-to-my-shape leather belt, and I can conquer the world. Or at least, my homework.

Never expected to love these boots as much as I do. They were an impulse bid on ebay because they were in my size. I thought the wider-shaped of the Cydwoq classics wouldn't work on my feet, but they're actually balanced with my feet and legs. I still haven't tried any of the regular style shoes, but if they're build on similar foot bases, they might fit. Sometimes buying online is a gamble, but sometimes it pays off.

I am still reading my blogroll, but my comments are woefully behind. I hope to get caught up by the end of the week. Sorry for the silence on my end of things!

  2. Being able to grab and go is a nice thing! Looks like a comfortable and chic outfit!

And what is it with loud people in waiting rooms, seriously? I don't blame you for going out to the parking ramp!

  3. Oh, nice! I've got an All Saints tank with a vaguely similar pattern and colour scheme. I now may have some idea of how to style it.

I will never understand why some people will interrupt other people who are reading. Unless your hair is on fire, and you're too absorbed in your reading to notice yet, or there's some other urgent need for me to interrupt you, I cannot even fathom doing so.

  6. I'm woefully behind on my blogroll, too, but started with you as usual :) It is amazing what one fantastic belt can do for a wardrobe. Note to self: Find one fantastic belt. I love those boots more every time I see them.

Sounds like you had a productive period for reading. I hate to be interrupted when I'm reading - or studying.

  7. Boy, that belt sure modernizes the whole look, doesn't it? Great fabric on the blouse too.
You are so dedicated to study in the car. I get claustrophobic in cars.

  8. Oooh, I envy the grab-and-go (that would make a good name for a future line of MMD clothing???). Glad to hear how happy you are with your boots - buying shoes/boots online is always a risk, but these have been super-good!

  11. The belt and the boots are perfect together--and I know what you mean how ordering from ebay can seem risky. I loved the Arche boots you tweeted the other day.

  13. Glad the boots are working out because they are certainly WORKING in this outfit. I love the belt as well. This is a great example of how to be stylish, practical and comfy at the same time. And I HATE when people try to talk to you while you are clearly reading/studying/otherwise preoccupied! How annoying! Don't worry about the comments, I'm behind on EVERYTHING!

  19. Hope DH is ok. I expect people were tring to get you talking because you looked awesome and very interesting. No excuse though.

I like the double buckles (bucklage?), very nice indeed.

  20. What a cohesive and gorgeous look! I know the unprepared-to-entertain-themselves-while-waiting folks of which you speak, but lately they're usually armed with cellphones on which to play games - without turning the sound off, aargh.
