Pegasus

 Scarf - thrifted
Sweater - Loft, thrifted
Corduroys - J Crew, thrifted
Boots - Arche
Jacket - Liberated from the yardsale rack

Eee! They're here. Okay so you all know ebay is my weakness when it comes to shoes. I had been lusting over a pair of Trippens from Ped in a dark teal shade. Despite the fact that fringe is totally not my speed, I wanted them anyway. And of course, dear Amber, wore a pair of Arche pumps that sent me on an ebay hunt to gaze at gorgeous shoes. Turns out Arche is a company that consists of 50% gorgeous funky designs and 50% orthopedic shoes.

The shoe faerie was with me though and I found these amazing deep teal boots in my size!! They're in impeccable shape. My only issue is I wish they fit my calf tighter, but that's a common issue with my skinny stems. I couldn't wait to wear them right away. As much as I am a Trippen fan girl, I'm glad I took the plunge and went for a new brand.

The DH has dubbed these my Pegasus boots, as a foil to my beloved Dragon boots. They certainly do make me want to fly away with happiness.

Adding a snuggly scarf a la Secret Squirrel to a cotton sweater and my newly hemmed cords, I had a very snuggly outfit to fight against this winter-like weather. I'm sure you'll see many iterations of this outfit, if not identical re-wearings later on this winter. I wanted to wear a skirt today, but it's just too damn cold.

Today's late post is brought to you by a thrifting trip with my MIL. I scored a pair of blue-green cords, a grey sweater dress with burgundy stars!, and a really cool waistcoat. I adore thrifting.

  1. Cool boots! (Pegasus, hee!) I really don't think of myself as having particularly skinny legs, but I very often find shorter boots are at least a bit too big around. Maybe my calves are thin in proportion to my shoe size? It is a mystery.

I love those pink cords so much. I know I'm always saying I love your colour combos, but I love your colour combo here!

    1. My ankles are positively tiny, my feet are too, but that doesn't often help with calf size. I usually opt for crop boots to ankle boots because I look less like I'm swimming in them.

  2. ... great... now I need to go thrifting AND go on eBay. Good thing I'm done work for the day! I should know better than to go on your site when I have time to kill. You always inspire me to go bargain and treasure hunting!

  3. I love those cords! LOVE them! And now you found a pair of green/blue ones too? Jealous! Adding the scarf to the sweater definitely makes it more cuddly, I love it! And your new shoes are awesome!

Re: my blog - yeah I'm pretty much done with them, at least it wasn't too bad of a cost and if my friend can use it she said she'd pay me for it, so it'll be win/win. And yes, thrifting IS better!!

  6. Love the boots - they are very faerie! I imagine Jenks' boots look like that!

I love the colour combination in this outfit.

  7. The boots certainly make me think of Puck! Or Peter Pan... or Neil Gaiman's Faerie in the Sandman series... too cool! Even your thin ankles (so jealous!) fit in perfectly with that sensibility.

  12. You have really great taste in shoes. Very futuristic which I like about several of your shoes.
I need to check ebay more often. But the other day I purchased a leather beret on Etsy. I actually think it might be my old hat.

  15. Oh, the new boots look amazing on you! I've read good things about the Arche brand from that gang of bloggers who are in love with France...

  16. Enjoy your new boots first of all and all the great pants, sweaters and other things you got thrifting, lately. =) Love this salmon pair of cords. I have a similar-colored pair of cords (from years ago) from Express. If they have some stretch to them you don't have to worry about these getting tight, on the opposite they will stretch a little. I love that colorful stripped sweater. This is a simple outfit done right and between my love of scarves, stripes and simple chic pant outfits I pinned this.

P.S. I cannot wait for you to announce the new challenge. It is WEDNESDAY today!! Ada. =)

  18. Oh, fantastic!!! Those boots are so beautiful, and your summation of Arche's half-and-half style is perfect, lol. They are lovely quality. Today's colour combination is especially wonderful, great striped sweater. Thanks for the mention, dolly!

  20. Thanks for mentioning me! I am highly scarf biased, but I think that is a lovely one. Your shoes remind me of the film, Stardust, have you ever seen it? One of my favorites.

  21. Cool boots. I have 2 pair of Arche, but mine are both rather tight on my foot. I think they run small compared to some others. The leather is amazing though.

    1. They are definitely more narrow than most shoes. I usually wear anywhere from a 36-37 (6-7) and these are a 37, but fit snug.
