Desaturated

 Shirt - Talbots, thrifted
Skirt - DIY'd
Necklace - gift from Ana
Boots - vintage deadstock

Ultimately, I got rid of my buggy background in favor of a dark blue one. Sorry if you missed it!

Today is the last day of my fall break. It's been a productive one for the most part. I've managed to get things cleaned up and reorganized. I've cleared out, rearranged, and caught up on school work. And did some shoe-window shopping. Lol. I have wishlist now (*Links only for love, not profit) I'll be spending the evening with Bio study guides and some Grey's Anatomy.

After yesterday's colorful look, I needed to desaturate a bit with some black and white. I never thought I'd reach so much for a white skirt, but this one has been a great piece so far. Super comfy, easy to style. You can also see my newest DIY (Don't kill me, Ana!) I loved this belt that Ana gave me, but the best part of it only showed in the back when I wore it. I realized a few simple snips and the addition of a clasp, I had a really cool rope necklace!

  2. Oh, how cool! DIY-ing is fantastic, and I'm glad you made the belt more useable for you by making it into a necklace. And I agree; the twisty rope was by far the best part of that belt.

  3. Very cool necklace! I thought you'd twisted up a scarf, and was going to be up half the night trying to twist up one of mine to look like that. I'd pro'bly mostly have just strangled myself :P

Talbots! You are wearing Talbots! My boss and I laugh that we used to think Talbots was for, well, our grandmothers, and now we like it. Because we are pretty much our grandmothers...lol. But not you, of course, you are rocking it in a very fresh and edgy way. Go Talbots!

    1. OMG, ditto on the imitation and high likelihood of fashion-related self-asphyxiation!!!

  5. I like the new background with the black, but your MMD is lost in it. A contrast colour? Grey?

I used to have a white denim skirt and I loved it SO much. White "tough" skirts are awesome.

The scarf is such a smart idea.

    1. Yeah! I need to make a new one, that one is an old one - I accidentally deleted the solid black one. Should be fixed up tomorrow. I am not good at the whole blog design thing and the DH hasn't had time to do it for me. Hopefully I'll get it fixed by tonight. @_@

  6. I was wondering what in the world were people commenting about bugs for in your last post! Apparently you had already moved to the deep blue background by the time I came by. It looks great. As do you in your B&W ensemble. Your white DIY pants to skirt is still just as awesome as when you first modeled it. And bravo on your re-do DIY belt to necklace.

  7. A belt into a necklace??? You're amazing and I love your white skirt--I've always been a fan of skirts with details like these awesome pockets! And the boots are great with it as well. I liked the bug background a lot but this blue one is pretty cool too!

  10. I love the black and white. But you know me, I'm a neutrals lover. That skirt is way cool too!

Should we do another fashion challenge soon?

  11. Black and white is always a good thing! I love those boots, I always smile when you wear them! And I really love what you did with the belt to make it a necklace!! That's one of the better DIY's I've seen lately!! And your dark blue background is just as nice as the bugs. :)

  15. I think I am late to blog-fixing, but I really like the contrast of the blue-black and the green.

I have a funny thing about avoiding lighter coloured skirts and trousers, but you are looking lovely in that skirt! It is perhaps like a neutral? The DIY fix is great, you should adjust things so you wear it more. Like Lynne, I was thinking I would be learning a new folding technique.
