Cold Tights

Dress - LAmade, thrifted
Belt - Lauren Ralph Lauren
T shirt - Horny toad, thrifted
Fae print tights - Anne Klein via Rugged Warehouse
Star bracelet - target
Logic flats - Cydwoq

I picked up these faerie-print tights over the summer. I normally don't go for nylon tights, because they make me feel cold. However I liked the print; it reminded me of All Saints. And they were only $2. I don't know how much wear they'll get. It was only in the 60s today, and I was still chilly. I did bring along a jacket (not pictured). I'm doing the panicky thing where I'm afraid I don't have enough tights to see me through winter - but I'm sure I do and will wear pants more frequently as the weather changes.

Are you experiencing tights weather yet? Am I alone in my cold-feelings of nylon tights? How do you keep warm in dresses/skirts?

  1. You really don't want my good-for-nothing input on this. I live in Florida. It doesn't get cold here. Okay that's not entirely true, I do get cold frequently, but that's because I'm a wuss. ;)

    1. I do too! It only takes falling below 70 before I'm contemplating sweaters, tights, and boots. Anything below 50 and I'm convinced I'll freeze to death. Southern girls, amirite?

    2. You R right. I think my eyeballs will freeze over below 50 degrees, and death will soon follow. But right now, I would *love* a day in the 70's. Your new tights are awesome!

  2. It actually hasn't been real tights weather here too much yet, we've had a few days, but right now it is warm. Then again, here in MN, we hold on to bare legged days as long as we can! If it's in the 60's I'm still going with bare legs, lol.

I love the print on these tights! And you only spent $2? That is a steal! I wear a lot of leggings with dresses and skirts in the winter to keep me warm.

  3. Tights weather here, for sure! It's not Tennessee or anything, but the weather is generally very mild, if wet, most of the year, and I am ALWAYS cold.

Those tights are amazing, and fit into the whole very cool outfit very nicely. I'm OK with the lycra/spandex kind of nylon tights, especially if they're blended with wool or cotton, but old school nylon, like the stuff from my high school days, is hideous.

  4. I am hanging on to my bare legged days as long as I possibly can! We have been in the 70's and 80's and I have been loving it! Cool tights. I always have a reverse panic attack with my clothes at seasonal shifts. I start freaking out "but summer can't be over! I didn't wear this dress or this skirt or these sandals!"

  5. I don't usually buy nylon tights either. It's not quite tights weather here yet. I love wearing tights in the winter to get some extra mileage out of my skirts. I'm really liking your purple outfits lately. The color looks cute with your hair.

  6. Wow, this outfit is so cool! Awesome tights!

I hadn't noticed the "cold" feeling of nylon - is that something which could be harnessed on those days it's too warm for tights but you want to wear them anyhow? Like a superpower! Oddly, it's not quite been tights-weather here yet, last week's fishnets were the first and only wear so far.

Keeping my neck, head, and feet warm are the most important for me. Years ago, the school uniform led to a basic winter numbness below the waist, which I'm sure was the point. :)

  7. I live in Wisconsin, and up until recently, I wore dresses and skirts at least 95% of the time (I've only recently embraced pants). I usually wear sweater tights, super long socks, tall boots, and if it's really cold, an extra layer under my skirt (like biking shorts) (not necessarily all at once, but sometimes). Also, although they sounds '80s, leg warmers can be your friend for the moments when your'e outdoors.

  8. I've never met a pair of tights I didn't like. I'm such a lover of them that weather is irrelevant to me: I'm happy to wear them in Summer. A clear case of vanity trumping comfort.

  9. I never have issues with nylon tights - those are supremely cool-looking. I stay extra warm by wearing slips and camisoles under everything.

Super colours in this outfit, Megan!

  10. Oh, I LOVE tights. I am feeling panicky too, about not having enough. I need to go on a tight-buying spree! Love those you have on!

  11. I like nylon tights for days like today, where the morning was too cold for barelegs, but the afternoon was comfortable. I wear them like I would a lace tights - more for looks than temperature (and especially on days when leg shaving means getting out of my toasty warm bed too early!)

  12. It's not tights weather here yet. (And I'm going to have to buy new if I want partake this season.) oh, it was 80f today! If its too cold I'll do legging instead of tights. Also wear boots instead of shoes. As you know I'm also always layered beyond belief. So that keeps me warm.

  13. Nylons make me FREEZE. I have never met anyone else who said this, and always felt really weird about it. The just give me the chills.

  16. I find wearing a slip with a dress or skirt can add warmth...old fashioned, but it works. Tights weather has arrived in Virginia, but oddly enough there doesn't seem to be a big selection of them in the stores. What's up with that?
The fairy tights are cool, not just anybody could pull that look off Megan, but you do it well.

  17. I love tights and you know I have been expecting cooler weather for at least a month now but it has NOT happened yet =P. I love tights and tights weather but this year I either have to go with a bigger size if I need to wear tights, or find ones that are really short-waisted which I doubt I will. I will be heavier pregnant through late Fall and Winter so tights might be out of the picture. If you look at my posts from let's say Jan-May of this year though you will see how often I wear and love tights, since I am usually a dress person.

With that said, your tights are ADORABLE. So cute & unique and 2 bucks?! =D Even better. I have said it before but I love this cool purple dress. The assymetry and sort of deconstruction in it, is amazing. This and the red dress you own are my favorites in your collection of dresses. =)

Hope, the month slows down for you as you have a busy weekend ahead with the Festival. I hope you sell as many of your buttons and belts, as possible.

Stop by when time allows you and see what I am up to, lately. Thanks, Ada. =)

  20. You are so funny! It is still in the 80's today, but in true Kansas weather, it will be in the 50's tomorrow. Cold to me is below the 40's. It is really, really cold when it is sub zero.

Those are cute tights and look fab with your outfit.

  21. I had to think about this. I suppose I normally wear cotton or woolly tights, so yes, nylon ones would be cold! I ave a wedding ths weekend and am going back and forth between see-through (v pale!) nylons or ribbed navy woolly ones. I think I knowthe answer though...
