Dress - vintage
Obi - MMD
Pearl Hart Pumps - John Fluevog
Not only is my dress vintage, but so are the ties that make up my obi belt. This was one of my favorite combos. I worried a little pairing two bold ties, but like most of the obi belts, it just takes the right pairing to make them work. Lynne rocks her dragon belt, combining three prints!
It's an absolutely miserable rainy day, but I haven't let that get in the way of my four day weekend. I'm taking Monday as a complete rest and relax day. I'll be catching up on my blog reading, watching television and vegging out. Tomorrow I'll be getting back to the nittygritty and doing homework.
This outfit is highly visible so I'm linking up with Patti's Visible Monday, and joining Robin of FranniePantz for part 2 of her wedding e-party.
I think the button-swapping you did here is just brilliant, Megan. And the sleeve-work looks just right too. I know that feeling of seeing a diamond in the rough, and hoping you're the only one! I love this whole bold look, and thanks for sharing it with Visible Monday.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, I would never have guessed that this is linen--I don't see ANY wrinkles! I really like the color combination in this outfit. Hope your Monday proved to be as restful as you wanted it to be.
ReplyDeleteThey're there, I promise! Mostly where I was sitting on it. I think the bright color hides the wrinkles some.
DeleteHead to toe gorgeous, loves the shoes!
ReplyDeleteO. M. G. Megan this is one of my favorite dresses I have seen on you. The orange color is great and I love the length on you. And, of course, the obi belt is a PERFECT match. I just love this look and thanks again so much for joining for part two of the e-party!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a great eye for colour and patterns. Your obi combinations are all fantastic, and this one lights up yet another out-of-this-world look with your Pearl Harts - I'm sure I've said before how everything you style those shoes with is instantly my favourite!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. The color of the dress is greatly appealing and you complete the outfit with the cool belt. Nice work, buddy.
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty - I love the orange, and you have such a good eye for mixing the patterns in the ties!
ReplyDeletevery pretty! I love your "belt" and the dress colour is so jusy! love it!

Your belt and shoes really make that dress even more spectacular. and those purple buttons, I would've never thought of it and it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove this dress because it's orange!! And it's a nice color orange too, I don't think it screams "I AM AN ORANGE DRESS". And that obi is amazing - looks fantastic with the dress. I love it! I kind of want to steal it, lol. But I don't have a pretty orange dress to wear it with! :)
ReplyDeletewow, love that belt! are you making and selling those? hint...

I am having a fabulous giveaway right here.
GORGEOUS dress!! I would've snapped it up, too. It's plain enough in styling that you can layer with it and change it up.
ReplyDeleteLove the obi--i think the ties look familiar ;)
walking here with a smile. take care.. have a nice day ~ =)

Love the dress! I really like how the obi picks up the colors in your shoes.
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty in this!! The belt is exactly what the dress needed to make it perfect. Hope you had a good day yesterday. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much simply swapping out the buttons can change the look of a garment. I am shocked how great you (as a redhead) look in this color, it looks fab on you. You've given me hope for wearing warmer colors this fall!
ReplyDeleteOranges, reds, and pinks look amazing on redheads!
DeleteOrange and linen and oh, those shoes! The obi fits in so well; it looks like it came with the dress. It's funny how many things I thrift can be changed so quickly for the better by replacing the buttons. Usually the problem is that the buttons just look so damn cheap and tacky, and to my mind, nothing will ruin a good garment faster than cheap notions.
ReplyDeleteAwesome find! Fabulous color and shape. I love it with your bold obi.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit so. Much. Wow.
ReplyDeleteEspecially love your necktie handiwork, that obi is amazzzing!
This dress, and the entire outfit, is STUNNING! I love this so much. Um. And I still have a ginormous bag of ties to send you...
ReplyDeleteYou totally have the best shoes! The entire outfit looks great!! xx Lynn Dylan
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with this dress. Orange looks terrific on you, and the obi belt is the perfect original touch. You've reminded me I'd like to thrift a dress to upcycle.
ReplyDeleteLove this new thrifted dress and what a great color on you. Love it with the two bold-printed ties as an OBI. Orange & Purple look amazing, together. =)
