Today was one of those days that was really hard to wake up. If I didn't have quizzes/tests in all of my classes today, I would have stayed in bed. But I tossed on a sort-of put together outfit and toughed it out. I wore my uber comfy boots and layered some tees. I know these boots are probably not the most fashionable OR flattering, but they've got a really great insole and I can walk a bunch in them.
Usually I hunt around for shoes that are both comfortable and fashionable, but these fill a sneaker-role in my now minimal shoe closet.
I also jazzed up my navy tee with the sunburst necklace Lynne gave me. I always get a ton of complements when I wear it. It's probably my favorite piece of jewelry ever.
I've been trying to keep up with my blog reading. I'm feeling better than I did yesterday, but still under the weather. I'm doing my best to get caught up this weekend. Do you have any fun plans for this weekend?

ReplyDeleteI didn't want to get out of bed this morning either! I've had so many short work weeks lately I'm like, wait, do I have to get up?
My weekend is not terribly exciting but I'm ok with that. We've been almost too busy lately!
Aw! Get well soon Megan! Sometimes I think simple/comfortable is best, especially on a Friday when it's already hard to get out of bed! I actually think your boots are awesome and, of course, I love your necklace too!

Simple is BEST sometimes. I love open flyaway cardigan. They are great layering pieces, and now for me they are awesome for pregnancy, too. Also I must say PURPLE is one of the colors that look best on you especially with your red hair.

Sometimes you just gotta keep it simple. How many pair of shoes do you own? I have about 10 but I only really wear 3 including my gym shoes.
ReplyDeleteI have 16 pairs total: 3 tall boots, 4 ankle boots, 1 pair of Chucks, 2 pairs of sandals and the rest are either flats or pumps. I wear all them on a fairly good rotation. I still wish I could pick up another pair of ankle boots in a light grey or blue-grey, but I don't have the funds right now. Hopefully I'll find something to fill that gap, but I've worked out a pretty good shoe collection that works for me.

I've been thinking of you - hope you're feeling better. We all need these kinds of outfits - comfortable, functional, with stable footwear, but you are beautiful in these colours, and those boots are excellent!
ReplyDeleteI worked myself into the ground this past week and yesterday was looking at vehicles (which I don't enjoy), but I'm balancing it all with time with my parents and the chickens, and today hope to catch some of the Studio Tour with Beary - artists all over the county open their workspaces to the public, and it is awesome!
I think you look fantastic, and that the boots are perfect with this outfit. Purple shoes make everything better :) I love that necklace on you, and am so happy to see you getting lots of use out it.
ReplyDeleteI spent three hours in a previously unexplored GoodWill yesterday :P I missed you so much while I was there! I got you a few things, nothing as exciting as Smoking Lily from Sheila, but one in a killer color and the other maybe useful for winter layering. Will try to get package out to you next week :)

ReplyDeleteI had a nice weekend, picked out some new perfume at a counter where you are encouraged to play round and layer scents, and got my bag fixed. It felt like a restorative weekend. Hope you got some relaxing in too.
