Caturday

Pretty sure I haven't shared this yet. Here's my crazy kittens a couple months ago playing through the bathroom door as Momma-Annabelle watches. Sorry for the cellphone video!

Monday, the boys and Annabelle are supposed to go for their spay and neuter day next week! While baby kittens are adorable, remember to spay and neuter your pets. There are always cats and dogs who are desperately in need of homes.

  4. Aww, I love the under-the-door game. My cat-crazy husband will play it with a cat and a comb.

  6. The overflowing shelters and animals dropped off in rural areas hurt my heart and say a whole lot about our culture.

Last December a kitty who had clearly been a house pet - declawed, no thick winter fur - was left to fend for itself in the Ontario winter near our place. I wish people understood that when they dump their pets (and their garbage) like this, actual other people have to deal with it. We are miserably allergic, I can visit kitties but not have them anymore, and it took a lot of doing (flyers, phone calls to vets / shelters / radio stations, care of kitty in the meantime), but we were able to connect him with a good home. In the meantime we got a really saddening glimpse of the whole unwanted pet situation. :(

These kitties though - OMG CUTE.

  7. Eee, the cuteness! We always neuter our kitties (we've only had male cats), and get them from the SPCA or a cat rescue.

    1. Aw, that's awesome. I'm partial to male cats, but I've never said no to a Momma-cat who's shown up at my doorstep. We always take them in, let them have their babies, find homes, then spay. I <3 my street cats.

  8. So cute! The Corginator has to have her meals in the downstairs bathroom, because she'll eat hers and then the Cairn's. Sasha Jane sticks her paw under the bathroom door 'cause she can hear the bowl banging 'round in there.

Her spay appointment is this week. We had to move it back bit due to the hospitalization. I hope she doesn't hate me, but I know it's the right thing to do.
