Borderlands 2 came out late last night. It's a really awesome "space western"/post apocalyptic style FPS. The art style is really incredible and quite different from many games on the market right now. I'm thrilled they made a sequel because the first game was really fun. The DH got Borderlands 2 for his birthday. I'll either wait for a price drop or steal a character slot on his account because I don't have the funds for a full retail priced game right now. But I thought I'd pull together an inspired look for the game.
I found this vest in the closet along with the goth pants from Sew Sunday. It was originally from a costume for the DH that we took to a convention a few years ago. I loved the military look and thought it really toughed up this dress. It's still a wee bit cool so I pulled out my first pair of tights for the season.
Also hair nubbin! Just long enough to pull up now.
Going going gone~!
It is always exciting when your hair starts to get long enough to pull back! I like the tights.
ReplyDeleteI noticed your hair was getting longer! How far are you going to go? Sometimes I think about growing my hair out a bit too and then I remember how stringy and awful it looks and how much easier it is to not have to deal with it too much and then the pixie stays.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the orange dress, holy cow. And it's fun with the tights. Hooray for tights, so happy to be wearing them again!!
Honestly, I like it about this length, easy to wash and air dry. I'll probably let it keep growing though because I'm... kind of broke. Lol. Trying to only spend money on meds, food, and necessities for now, so haircuts will have to wait.
DeleteJeez I've been meaning to put a shop my closet page up on my blog for, well, too many embarrassing months. Good for you! I don't know anything about gaming, but I hope you are able to play off of your Husband's! I really, really, REALLY love the olive green and orange together! The dress is really pretty and I love that you made it more grounded with these neutrals.
ReplyDeleteEee! I would take that harness...can you email me the measurements, please?? I might not be able to respond tonight (WW meeting + D&D), but I'm definitely interested.
ReplyDeleteLove the tights and the "tough" vest!
Oh, and L loves Borderlands - he plays it all the time on our big screen.
ReplyDeleteI just emailed you - wanting the fabulous skirt and black tee! I really like your red vintage dress today, a great ladylike counter to the jacket.
ReplyDeleteI love how you toughened up and modernized the dress with the vest!
ReplyDeleteYou look like a total sci-fi badass. That is meant, of course, in the most complimentary way possible. Congratulations on the nubbin! Swooning over those tights. So cool!
ReplyDeleteJust let me grab my rocket launcher. ;P
DeleteYou look amazing, this is one of my favorite blogger outfits ever and I think if you lived closer we would be friends. :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't play borderlands, but I'm a huge Final Fantasy geek and have been dying to get more Vanille/Lightning/Paine/Squall in my wardrobe lately. If only I were thinner. And animated. ;-)
I love how you shop your own closet and still come up with fantastic new outfits. I also am getting ready to jump the gun on tights, possibly 'cause I am sick of shaving my legs every bloody day:p
ReplyDeleteFO' REAL.
DeleteEven on the playa I wouldn't be cool enough to pull off that harness :)
ReplyDeleteAdore this outfit on you - those tights and boots are the coolest!
Love this! Love the hard and soft contrast. This is the quintessential Megan outfit! Your true personal style in every element.
ReplyDeleteI love those tights - they are amazing! So glad they're Asos, one of the few places we can order from up in Canada that I see all over the blogs! (without massive customs fees, anyway)
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing, Megan! Love the contrast between the vest and the shape of the dress, and those fabulous tights (HOORAY!) and boots. Wow!
ReplyDeleteAdorable hair nubbin. :)
Love everything about this outfit on you!!
ReplyDeleteNot being a gamer I have no idea what Borderlands even is!
I can always look to you for inspiration when I want to mix different styles into this same outfit. Today's outfit you have on is proof of that. =) The red dress is beautiful on its own and then you added a cool, breezy, military vest, your awesome new boots and some fun stripped tights! WOW Megan is all I can say! =)
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Great style mix. You look the the lead in a very cool game. I am a bit rubbish at playing them - I even shriek when nasty things come round the corner...
ReplyDeleteI do too! I tend to talk at my computer a lot. Okay, I really scream at it, but still. ;P
DeleteYay for joining the tights squad :) you look sci-fi fierce! :)
ReplyDeleteMegan Mae ! I am absolutely loving those fun tights :)
