Fruits of Labor

Fly print Tank - Smoking Lily, gift from Sheila
Skirt - All Saints
Logic Oxfords - Cydwoq
Medium Buttonflower - MMD

I sat down with my supplies yesterday and sewed for four and a half hours. I was thrilled to look down into the box and see all the buttonflowers I had put together. Usually I only do a handful at a time, but I had cut a lot of the ties the day I sewed the obis. I've now got three bags full of buttonflowers. And plan to tackle more today.
I wanted something comfortable and me today. My oxfords are always comfortable, this is my favorite skirt, and nothing beats this awesome tank. I'm still trying to wrap my head around dressing for school again. The temperatures of the buildings vary wildly and sitting for long periods means comfort is key. I just hope fall comes sooner rather than later. It's much easier to dress for cold weather than hot.
I'm hoping to finally go see the Dark Knight with my Mom tomorrow. Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

  3. I really like the Fly shirt. It adds such a fun twist to the typical tee! Hope you enjoy the movie; I thought it was very well-done, with Anne H. as a terrific catwoman.

  5. Your bin full of button flowers looks scrumptious! I already am thinking I need more because I may end up making a necklace out of all of them at once! But then I won't have singles to put here and there. But I know where I can get more. ;)

Have a fun weekend. We're going to have a little beer tasting party. My husband likes to do home brewing. Our house smells like a swamp sometimes. ;)

  8. I can see why that skirt is your favourite, and your Cydwoq shoes are to die for - "comfortable" + "you" = whole outfit is great! I hear you on temperature fluctuations - I often pack leggings and a sweater, and of course my usual scarves.

Nice going on the mass of buttonflowers - I'm madly in love with at least half of them.

It's my birthday this weekend, and Beary and I are headed to to the lake with my parents, sibs, and best friends!

  9. I agree that it's often hard to know how to dress in college classrooms. On my campus, the wind is often blowing full tilt as well. I can see that you've been very busy with the button flowers. On our agenda this weekend is entertaining all three of my daughters who are in town for an annual music festival.

  11. I love that box of buttonflowers! I would be tempted to toss them in the air and have them rain down on me. :) Or throw them on the bed and roll around in them. Too weird?

I STILL have not seen The Dark Knight Rises. That's way late for me when it comes to movies I want to see. Something keeps coming up.

  13. I'm not sure why this is, but I like visiting your blog and listening to you talk. Even when there's nothing special to be said. I find your blog comforting. It's an oasis of calm friendliness in a world of anxiety and cold indifference. You're like Mr. Rogers for adults, inviting us in for a friendly chat.

  16. It is an awesome skirt. I wish I could sew for 4 hours. Right now I wish I had the patience to do anything for 4 hours... I'm super impressed with your output!

  17. Lovely skirt, I have an All Saints in my city but haven't seen anything as nice as that there - my only purchase so far has been leggings with an integral skirt thing.

I love the bunch of button flowers, so colourful.
