Brave

 Tee - Fossil, thrifted
Bag - thrifted, added strap
Skirt - fei, thrifted
Boots - Trippen Happy Free

Thanks to everyone for the awesome advice on yesterday's post, especially the personal experiences, tips, and tricks. I'll try to keep it all in mind when I go to the doctor (probably Monday), and I'll be sure to keep things posted here.

In lighter news, DH and I finally caught a movie this summer. I really wanted to see Brave before it left theaters. I generally like Pixar movies. D isn't much for movies, but he did come along this time. I really enjoyed Brave. The story was - a bit predictable - but beautifully crafted into a traditional fairytale for the modern day kid or kid-at-heart.

While I may not have a skirt made in my family's tartan, but I did have a plaid skirt. This morning it stormed and stormed, but was sunny and a cool 80F by noon, so I was able to happily toss on ankle boots and this lined skirt. The heatwave may not be completely over but I can deal with high 80s/low 90s.

I did opt for my favorite scrollwork tee. I pretty much wear this tee every weekend, alternating between it and my plain black V-neck unless I'm doing something special. I like graphic tees for working in because they're easy to wash. Do you have a favorite tee?

  1. Gotta love a good dependable Rockin tee! I love that you paired this one with a fun plaid skirt! I've heard that brave is really cute. I have a feeling my daughter would grow an obsession with it. ;-)

  2. I love that skirt, especially since I was with you when it was adopted :)

My fave tee-shirt is The Teen's. It has Perry the Platypus on it, and I keep waiting for her to grow out of it but she never does :(

  3. You're finding a lot of cute ways to wear your boots!
I do love graphic tees but only wear v-neck which are harder to find. I found a great company on Etsy called Zen Threads and I love their graphics on their American Apparel deep v-neck unisex tees. I have bought so many that now I have screen print equipment of my own and am going to start making my own graphic tees. I really like the design on the one you're wearing here.

P.S. I am an eye doc so I never have any needles ;)

  6. Love this outfit because as always I love the plaid!! Perfect outfit to go see Brave - which I haven't seen yet but I really want to. I've seen all the Pixar movies except Cars 2 because just no. I did see the first Cars though. Definitely not my favorite. What is your favorite Pixar movie? Mine is Finding Nemo.

I'll be thinking of you on Monday, I won't be able to check in until later in the week, but I'll still be thinking good thoughts for you!!

Oh yes favorite t-shirt...I have a couple of them, but I think my current favorite is one I have worn on my blog before that looks like Cookie Monster opening a closet door in a "Cookie's" bedroom. It's sort of Monsters Inc like too. Wow, how many Pixar things can I mention in one comment? :) Anyway the shirt is really soft and I love that.

  7. Such a sweet outfit - I love the tee and the skirt. I'm off t-shirts right now - they just aren't practical in my capsules - but I wear them around the house.

I haven't seen Brave yet, but I want to. I'll probably wait. I do love Pixar movies, though. Wall-E is my favourite.

  8. Great skirt. I like the sound of the word 'plaid' too.

My favourite tee is bright purple and made of merino wool. No only fits well but doesn't get stinky (tmi?). It has a tag sewn in so you can track the sheep who helped make it! Baaa!

Love the outfit and the boots are so awesome.
I plan to rent Brave....I have a thing for anything Scottish!

  10. I like the tee and skirt combo. It has a celtic vibe. Very warrior like.
Favorite tee? It is one that is too small for me now, but it is an American Eagle '1969' tee. I graduated in 69, so it has a special meaning to me.
