In the past I have made exceptions and bought pieces I loved because I liked them despite being a print I don't feel matches "me" or my style. I still barely have words to explain what I like, but I've learned a bit of a formula for what I DO like and what I will wear. Prints aren't usually on that list.
How ever today was a challenge day. And what better to challenge myself with than a floral shirt. I love this shirt. I've worn it a bunch. The weird neckline is comfortable and the cut, while it floats away from my body, still shows off my waist-line fairly well.

And I can't forget my favorite flower based thing - My buttonflowers! The brain children of my IRL friend, Michael, my blogger-buddy, Ally, and my own personal love of luxe fabrics. I puzzled out two different designs for these fabric flowers and have been pinning them to everything since I started. I still struggle to work them into my own wardrobe, but they've made excellent bows for presents, thank-you gifts, hat decorations, and more. Today I'm wearing a cluster of 3 minis to jazz up the neckline of this tee.
As always, don't forget at the end of the week to send Keely [kkmkreations[at]live[dot]com] your favorite participating photo to be included in the round-up. Also remember to pop by the other participating FC members and give them some encouragement! We have 25 lovely participants so far. I hope everyone is getting some inspiration from this challenge.
I really love what you did with your buttonflowers to dress up the neckline of this top! It really adds something! Love your red pants and bright red lips too! I really wanted to use a buttonflower for the challenge today but ran out of time as I was getting ready this morning to figure out how to work it in.
ReplyDeleteI prefer a lot of the prints you like too, the plaid/geometric type stuff. I do wear floral, but it isn't always my favorite.
Funny, I have the excact same tee from HM, how cool is that! :) I loved it so much I bought it in three different colours, the grey like yours, a coral one and a dark grey/purple one. Love the print! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the fashion challenge!! :)
The t-shirt is awesome - especially with those pants. They make the red in the shirt pop. The button flowers are a great addition. I liked how Lynne clustered many together a few days ago.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great floral tee Megan! And I love how you added your super cute buttonflowers to the collar! In fact, this is a great picture of you! I like the lipstick on you! I actually went with tribal today because I have so much floral printed stuff! I personally love a good print (stripes, polka dots, floral . . . locks LOL), but I don't have a lot of tribal print, so this was a challenge a bit for me. I think you did a great job with this floral tee!
ReplyDeleteTotally cute - and you look sweet in the red lippy!
ReplyDeleteI love your floral! I know you aren't a print person, but this one really is you. Nice!
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely rocking the floral trend, especially with those button flowers.
ReplyDeleteYes, the button flowers are the perfect accent for this cute top. And I agree with Sheila, the red lips are great!
ReplyDeleteI really like that top, especially with the red skirt/pants! And, confession, until you said so, I didn't realize the flower buttons were add-ons! They look perfectly at home on the shirt.
ReplyDeleteThis top is definitely a keeper. You know that I love you're wearing MMD button flowers with it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I blogged about you today :)
You look absolutely stunning Megan- I really love red lips on you and the floral top with your buttons is adorable! Your least fave prints are my fave prints (esp animal print- roar!)
ReplyDeleteThe buttonflowers really jazz up the t shirt! You look great :-)
ReplyDeleteAwww you look incredible. I really love this tee and it looks so special & pretty every time you have worn it. I adore it with the red pants. Also, your button-flowers are A-DO-RA-BLE!! Do you ship to Albania?
ReplyDeleteOf all the pairings posted for this shirt, I love it best with these pants. Great look
ReplyDeleteI love the tee - especially with your red jeans. Still a very "Megan" look.
ReplyDeletelove your red jeans.
ReplyDeleteI seriously LOVE that blouse!!! The color combo and the graphicness of the floral are awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'm making "button flowers" (except I call them yo-yo flowers) in calico prints as a craft demonstration this Saturday! I love your folded ones!
This is my favorite remix of this top. Great proportions and red pants rock!
ReplyDeleteThe minis are adorable too.
ReplyDeleteLove the red lipstick...and all the mini-flowers adding to the bouquet here.
ReplyDeleteThis shirt is precious! Love!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very nicely designed border print. Like seeing all your remixes with it. Perfect with the red jeans.
