Sailor Soup

 Blouse - Dear Creatures, thrifted
Trousers - Etcetera, thrifted
 Logic oxfords - Cydwoq

I slimmed these trousers down since the last time I wore them. They nearly went back into the redonate pile, but I will definitely be hanging onto them now. The slimmer leg is much more flattering and comfortable. I couldn't help but take advantage of the weather flip flop and wear this blouse. Another mega-cute thrifted find. I would have probably done insane things to find this shirt as an anime-obsessed teen/tween.

I've decided Cydwoqs would be the shoes I wore to Hogwarts. They're magically comfy. As obsessed as I am with Cydwoqs, I think my next shoe goal is to find a pair of Trippen shoes. They don't have many pairs up on ebay, and none in my size. I think I need to start a savings fund/shopping ban where instead of taking $5-10 thrifting, I take a walk/play some dance central and put the money I'd otherwise spend away for a pair. I don't think I'm going to have the same luck I do with Fluevogs and Cydwoqs, and will have to save up like I did with my Miz Mooz Amelia boots.

Also if you have a few moments, go check out Ally over at Shybiker who is wearing a very similar blouse and the skirt I bought for her!

  1. I love this blouse! I saw the one Ally had on too and it looks great! I like the lace in Ally's and I like the striped/sailor feel to yours. Those pants are a really nice color, I like that they aren't super bright green, but a bit more subdued. A nice look overall! The shoes look awesome and comfy as well - great suggestions of things to do instead of thrifting. I did a lot of that kind of stuff when I was on my shopping ban too.

  2. What a sweet blouse - I love the back detail! The colour on those trousers is awesome too - glad you slimmed them down.

I want another pair of Cydwoqs, maybe boots this time. I guess I better get saving too!

  3. What a great thrift find this little top was Megan! I love the way you slimmed down the pants too. Great overall look! I am not familiar with this shoe brand. I have such trouble with my stupid wide feet and shoes. :-(

  4. What a great blouse, especially paired with the yellow/goldish pants. I would have only thought of red, but the yellow is even better! Just wanted to stop by and say hello! Heather

    1. Thanks! Yeah I definitely plan on wearing this blouse with a red skirt, but I figured I'd try something a bit different.

  5. That is a seriously adorable blouse. I admire your sewing skills; pants alteration is beyond me, alas.

    1. It's a very quick and dirty alteration. Pinch, pin, sew. Project runway judges would have my head. ;)

  6. Hey yeah - those pants are very similar in hue to the top I wore today! I love that color - not quite chartruese, not quite peridot. I am in love with your shirt - it's like an off-kilter sailor blouse.

  12. Love. Love this outfit! When I saw the thumbnail on my phone I thought "That would be perfect with her Cydwoqs." I clicked and there they were! I really love the hue of those pants. AND the Trippen's are awesome. So Megan.

I knew I wouldn't be investing is Cydwoqs, so when I spotted those oxfords (twitpic) on clearance at Macy's, I snatched them up. Can't wait to wear them.:)

  18. You thrift the coolest pieces. I really like what you did with pants; they are definitely keepers.

I also loved Ally's outfit, including the skirt you sent her.
