Professional Mermaid

 Shirt - Gap, thrifted
Hector Skirt - All Saints
Pearl Hart Pumps - Fluevog

Pink hair and green/blue colors always make me feel mermaid-y. When I was growing up, Aladdin and The Little Mermaid were THE movies. I had everything from Ariel christmas ornaments to Rajah bedsheets. Some days, I still want to feel a little magical - even if it is quite dreary. Wearing one of my All Saints pieces instantly makes me want to wear all the rest of them. At the same time.

The rag curls did not turn out well today. I was more poofy than curly. Not sure if I took them out too early, the humidity was too high or I just messed up my rolling.

My days are currently filled with tests, studying, and completing the Big Projects. However I'm hoping to sneak in some time on Pottermore which has recently opened to the public. Tweet me @MeganMaeDaily if you're a Potterhead and want to friend me. (Also in case you're wondering - Slytherin 4 life!Z1!!)

Also I've got an influx of buttonflowers coming up. Many new bright shades and designs. Very excited to go show these off soon. Fingers crossed.

  1. You look so cute! I don't think your hair looks poofy, I think it's wavy and very pretty.

  2. I like your hair! That could be because I don't have much for hair so I can't do anything fun like that though.

I really like this combination together - the plaid skirt and fun aqua shirt! And I loved the Little Mermaid. Like love loved. I used to act it out in my bedroom because I was a huge nerd.

    1. Thanks! I forgot to mention it, but I've tacked up the excess material in the front. Pick-ups in the back AND front was just too much.

    2. I thought that skirt looked a little different than the last time you wore it, but couldn't figure it out. I like the bustle effect!

  5. I like the plaid skirt. I can never make my hair turn out well with rolled curls, so I always have to heat style it.

  6. Oh, you take me back, girl! My oldest, The Graduate Student in Costume Construction, loved The Little Mermaid, and the highlight of her elementary school days was getting to dance with Samuel Wright when he did a performance in our city. (She was plucked from the local ballet school.)

I like your hair, and the contrast with that minty blouse, one of my fave colors that I don't own any of right now. Must fix that!

  7. How does the bustle handle a day full of sitting? If well, what fabric is it? I've spotted two snazzy dressers at work, and am feeling more confident to find professional but distinctive skirts

  9. I wanted to be a professional mermaid at one point in my life. Then I realized I'd have to learn how to swim. I agree that the pink + blues is very mermaid like though! and I heart that skirt!

  12. The shape and color of that shirt is so pretty! I still love The Little Mermaid (even though I hated it for a few years after I met the woman who did her voice and she had BLONDE hair!)
