Neon Watermelon

 Tee - Old Navy, thrifted
Skirt - the Limited, thrifted
Socks, Necklace - gift
Pearl Hart Pumps - Fluevog

I'm happy to announce that I've been featured in Wendy Brandes's article on sheer clothing over here at the Huffington Post. What an honor to be included with so many awesome bloggers! Head over and check everyone out. I'm new to wearing sheer, but I am definitely inspired to try more gauzy fabrics as the weather warms...

Speaking of warmer weather, I'm really looking forward to my color shift. I tend towards more greens/blues and brights during summer. My absolute favorite color combo now and forever has got to be pink and green. Even my computer colors are pink and green. My mom gifted me these socks awhile back and they are my favorite colorful pair, and how perfect of a match are they to my Pearl Harts?!

Some sad news, today is my last day before school starts back (Boo!) However, I've worked my butt off all spring break and I'll be thrilled to get all my work turned in. I used to agonize over work and procrastinate on writing papers until last minute. When I started college I decided that I would commit to doing the work as soon as possible. It's a relief not to spend every Sunday scrambling to get everything that's due on Monday done.

  2. Aw man! Boo for having to go back to school but a big *YAY!* for getting all your stuff done! What an awesome feeling! Congrats so much to you for the feature! You looked great. I looked like a freak because as I found out and was checking out the article, I randomly squeal and Patrick's like "what???" and I'm all "it's Megan!!!!" LOL I love all your bright colors! Pink and green are my favorites too and I love those socks.

  4. Love! Only you could wear those socks and shoes with the skirt and make it rock. That skirt - adore the ombre.

I love this outfit you are wearing. The colors are so rich. I love you in green. Love the socks with those shoes! The straps pick up the colors in the socks and add such a unique "MMD" touch to the outfit.

  7. I am starting to be very obsessed by these Fluevogs of which you, Sheila, and The Dashing Eccentric have introduced me to. But I'm pretty sure they don't sell 'em 'round these parts...lol.

  9. Congrats on being featured on the Huffington Post! I'm loving the watermelon look. Pink and green are so tasty together. I've made pink and green Christmas cards some years because I like the combo more than red and green.

That's really admirable that you do your school work as soon as you can instead of procrastinating. That's still something I struggle with. I have to ask myself, "Why am I dragging my feet on this project?" It's usually because I'm afraid of failing or messing it up...but I still gotta suck it up and do it anyway.

And wow, these colors look awesome together, I'm so leery of the neon trend, but you've managed to put it together without it feeling "loud". I think I especially love the socks!

  15. I've always been SUPER type-A about getting homework and papers done early. But a lot of my friends have told me that they went through that change when they started college. I guess it's part of growing up. Sunday's are SO much better when everything is already done though aren't they?!

I'm really enjoying the pink and green combo!
