Deadwood Altair

Deadwood Altair Dress - All Saints, gift from Megan
Tee - Club Monaco (old)
Belt - Rugged Warehouse
Boots - Frye, ebay

Ahh! Yes! Today was so crazy I can hardly begin. For starters, today is probably my last day for knee high boots. I was sweatin' today. Still in the 80s with no cooling off in the weather forecast. I'm glad I didn't wear a jacket today. This is the second All Saints dress, gifted to me by the awesomesauce Megan. I have to admit I was pretty excited to get this one. It was a bit big on me compared to the black dress from Tuesday, but a couple of seams brought the bust up.

I took some inspiration from Audi on this outfit and layered a tee underneath. I went for purple, although the plaid is a faded red, grey and khaki. Even with the best of tailoring, this bustline is quite open. You can also see me versus Audi - I'm short. Almost all my dresses hit below my knee or mid-knee. I think it balances the open neckline though.

I have a similar dress by All Saints (the Vinca), but the neckline is a little less open and it doesn't have the poof at the neck line. Which I will admit to de-poofing by about 4 inches of fabric. Otherwise it doesn't lay under jackets very well and and I am so in love with this plaid I hardly want to limit it to summer wear. The excess fabric became two unique buttonflowers, one of which is on it's way back to Megan as a thankyou.

A quick reminder, Fashion Challenge - Stripes Week starts next week. I hope you will consider joining Keely and I for at least one day of striped goodness.

  1. You look so cute! You know I love plaid, but I really like the colors in this dress - they are kind of great for spring! I have given up on boots, it's just been too warm. And I am so excited for stripes week!

  3. You look so cool in this dress. I love the plaid. By the way, I finally got the stuff in the mail for you. Too late for this year, but hopefully next fall. I did include a lace vest so maybe you can use it somewhere or do something with it.

  4. Those colors look great with your hair. I'm a big fan of the pockets on those dresses. I really admire your creativity. I wish I had time to sew - I'd try my hand at a few vintage patterns.

  5. I like that dress. It is almost too warm for boots here, though it will probably get cold again.

  12. I have a problem with the fashion challenge next week--turns out I have TOO many stripes and now I have to narrow it down! Argh! But I am super stoked. This is a great dress and I love the boots, but I totally understand. It's getting way hot already!

  14. Looks great on you! I'm so glad you like it. =)

I went to the Allsaints store and NYC and tried on a few things so I'll better know my size. Lots of fabulous stuff in that store.

  16. That dress looks great on you, and actually you're better off having it on the roomy side -- I have trouble with mine because it fits so snugly that it causes the bottom buttons to pull when I sit down, so now the last couple of buttonholes are torn at the corners. I'm considering just sewing it shut at the bottom, since it doesn't really need to unbutton all the way down for me to put it on. Looking forward to seeing some more ideas for this dress on you!
