Meanie Greenie

Sweater - Jones Sport, thrifted
Skirt - The Limited, thrifted
Hepat Boots - Tsubo

Obviously my outfit Tuesday wasn't loud enough. So I decided to winterize this skirt I thrifted. Lots of stripes and OTK boots for a little extra warmth. I really love the effect of tall boots that disappear under skirts. It seems to be a frequent look on runways, but I think it translates nicely into real life too. This outfit was purely based around comfort for my Thursday classes, which are chugging along nicely. I can hardly believe we're already a month into school.

I don't have too much to say today. So leave me with your current movie recommendations. I need a good movie weekend. Anything good you've seen lately?

  1. You look so super cute! I love the greens, and I love the different stripes.

Ah, movie recommendations. I have a 4 year old so...Chipwrecked?

  2. The sweater goes perfect with the skirt! What a pretty outfit. I bet you are the best dressed student at school every day!

  3. Love the greens! Especially the skirt! I too like how the boots disappear up underneath!

Oh man movies? I haven't been terribly current on movies as of late. I can say if you've ever seen Monty Python stuff we just watched a cool live concert version of Life of Brian called Not the Messiah that was amazing. Beyond that I got nothing. Might have to stalk this post to see what others say!

  4. Aw man I am majorly lacking in the new movies. I haven't seen anything lately :-(

I do however love how you've winterized your skirt! I love when boots show up under the skirts and you are totally right--anyone can do it (not only runway folk). Green is a great color on you!

    1. They don't have to be new! In fact most of the movies I've been watching came out in the mid 2000s. Somehow I missed a lot of really great movies from that time.

  6. Oooh, I love these colors and stripes! "The Artist" was a fantastic movie, deserving of an Oscar, IMHO.

  7. I just rented The Ides of March, which I thought was pretty good.

  8. Adorable! I am in love with that skirt and it's perfect with your boots. I'm not much of a movie watcher, so I can't help you there. Hopefully you'll find something good to veg out to.:)

  9. Wow! It's like that sweater and skirt were destined to be together! I rarely watch movies but just rented Moneyball (I LOVE baseball and thought it was kinda boring and kinda okay) and watched Hellbound (um, Chuck Norris has to take on Satan - no, I am not kidding. It was terrible/awesome.)

  10. This is so cute! You are definitely rocking the stripes and that green looks great on you.

We haven't watched any movies lately. The last one we watched was the new Planet of the Apes. It was the hubz pick, but I ended up liking it. Heather

  11. Let's see, in the past few weeks I've watched 50/50, Jane Eyre (2011), Suck, and Super 8. I tend to watch more series than movies - recently finished watching the latest incarnation of Sherlock on PBS and the US version of Being Human.

  12. "Catfish" is a really cool documentary about meeting someone you only know online. Of course, if you have not seen "Breakfast at Tiffany's" you MUST see that! I'm also a massive fan of Werner Herzog - "Encounters at the End of the World" is a documentary by him that is a good introduction to his quirky style. If you like it, you have to see "Fitzcaraldo" starring the crazy (no, really) Klaus Kinski about a man in the middle of the Amazon who decides to forge a route for trade over a mountain. The movie famously features them dragging a boat up the side of a mountain - and there are NO special effects in the movie! (I love movies).

Love the stripes with stripes look of this! Those boots are killer.

  13. Love the green in that sweater. And definitely see "The Artist" if you haven't already. Best movie of the year.

  14. I love how the green stripe of the top matches the green stripe at the bottom of the skirt!
As for movies, I'll be honest. I'm looking forward to a Friday night of Bring It On. Guilty pleasure, I know! I did watch Uncle Buck last weekend

  15. The top and skirt look SO great together! I recently watch 'Julie&Julia' which was good :) and we saw 'J Edgar' which was interesting too.

  16. Love, love, love that green striped sweater. So great!

I...um...well...I started watching Jewel of the Nile last night, which is a sequel to Romancing the Stone. Terrible, terrible movies, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't love them with my whole heart.

(Also, I have the WORST taste in movies ever. It's well documented. So I wouldn't listen to my recommendations, if I were you.)
