Berry Navy

Tunic - All Saints, ebay
Berry skirt - thrifted
Pumps - Poetic License
Necklaces - gifts from Keely and Sheila

I loved the idea of this outfit, but I feel like I fought it all day long. The waist bagged, the skirt twisted, and the heels slid around. I've worn these heels 18 times. For a $30 pair of shoes the PPW is not bad. I think they're hitting Goodwill donation this weekend.

Even though I only wore two thin layers of cotton, I was burning up! It was nearly 80F today. This tunic was a great ebay win. I've worn it once before, but I think after a second time, it's definitely going to become more shirt-length very soon. I love the color and the tie-dye effect, but tunic lengths just don't work for me stylistically. Good thing I'm getting better with my sewing machine!

On a happier note, I just started Kim Harrison's latest A Perfect Blood. If you're into vampire books, I recommend the Rachel Morgan/Hollows series.

  1. I don't know if you've done something drastic to your hair or not, but I am really, really loving it lately. It just looks amazing!

    1. Nope! It looks different all the time because I can never get the part in the same place, the woman hacked my bangs really awkwardly and to top if off, my natural wave makes it look shorter/longer based on humidity and if I have time to blowdry/flatiron. The perils of difficult hair!

  2. I do like the color combination! I agree the shirt might be cuter if you shorten it. I love your necklace too!

  3. Such a cute outfit - what a shame about the shoes! Couldn't you put inserts in them, or are they just too big?

I finished "Pale Demon" a few weeks back - Harrison is such a great writer! I have recommended those books to so many people!

  4. The shoes are really cute. I have found that Poetic License shoes are very cool looking, not so comfy at least for me. I have a pink pair of sandals (with stars!) that are really cute, but not comfy. I too think the top will be much more usuable shorter. Your outfit looks great, but I know how it is when things are just not comfortable.

  7. I really like these two colors paired together. The tunic is really cool with the tye dye effect too. I can't believe it was 80 degrees! I thought our 50 degree weather today was a heat wave :) Heather

  8. I actually like this proportion on you but what looks good and what is comfortable unfortunately can be two different things! I am envious that you have the talent to alter things at will!

I have also realized that nothing bugs me more than shoes that are just a too big. At least you got some good wear out of yours!

  9. I enjoy your blog so much because you have a unique and beautiful style aesthetic. I love the outfit but hate being uncomfortable, so that's a big factor in whether an outfit is a success.

    1. I like the shoes too, which is why I originally bought them. They just plain aren't my size despite efforts to make them fit.

  11. I think about price per wear with my clothes too. 18 times is pretty good, so you're completely justified in donating the heels.

Thanks for the book recommendation. And really, who doesn't like vampire stories?
