Off the Wagon

Sweater - vintage, etsy
Shirt - NY&Co
Jeggings - Mossimo, thrifted
Hepat Boots - Tsubo
Earrings - gift from Keely

Wow, what a 48 hours! I have been incredibly busy since school ended. Yesterday I was at my Mom's. She and my grandmother took me to the dentist. I've been without insurance for a few years, so it's been awhile. But I got a clean bill of health. So far, I don't even have to have my wisdom teeth out. I also was able to tell the family the great news of maintaining my grades for another semester. I picked up my newly repaired shoes (Thanks, Ally!), did way too much laundry, and even had dinner with a classmate of mine. Now I'm reading to fall over for the weekend and sleep in.

Make up and earrings
Full admission ... I shopped. I did pretty well not spending over Thanksgiving/Black Friday Weekend, but I wound up in Goodwill yesterday with full intent on breaking the no-shopping-at-all ban. I did some celebratory spending because of all my good news. I'm not beating myself up, because I was already prepared to drop the ban until after my birthday. For those who have been commiserating with me, stay strong in your own shopping bans!

Now to talk about my outfit for today (which inevitably means describing the weather). We had a 30 degree drop overnight. Living in TN makes for some weird weather patterns. So I layered up my collared shirt with my star sweater for extra warmth. I kept the palette dark to avoid looking too preppy. The outfit was based around these earrings that the lovely Keely sent me for Christmas. She also sent me a lovely star necklace. Does she rock or what?! Thanks, Keely.

  6. Don't think of it as breaking a ban, think of it as learning and developing a healthy detachment from needless spending? I might have to drop by a thrift store I pass every day on the bus. I'll consider it my research for my blog.

  9. I love that your sweater is festive yet not too much. Probably because it's navy and not red or green. Congrats on a great semester (not that I would have any doubt!). Enjoy your time off!

  10. I've been loving the jewelry Keely has been producing as of late. SOOOOOOOO incredibly happy to hear that you have so much to celebrate! Good things come to those who put up with a lot of crap first. ;-) I feel your shopping was totally justified and I fully support it!

And BLUKH, I hate dentists :/ I wish teeth would just stay healthy, not get cavities and all that jazz. I seriously hate going to the dentist!

  12. I love the cateye makeup. When I try a cateye, it always ends up smearing. I actually don't mind going to the dentist. I had braces for years, so I'm used to people messing with my teeth. But I hate going to the eye doctor.

  14. Good news deserves to be celebrated...and if it's not a spur of the moment, moment of weakness, I don't think it necessarily counts as cheating :)
