Sherlockian

Hat - Target (2009?)
Sweater - Old Navy, thrifted
Belt - thrifted (hard to see but it's got stars!)
Tights - Sockdreams
Boots - farylrobin, ebay

Firstly, I want to say how much I adore this outfit. Secondly - omg tightscrawl. I will also admit to swapping into jeans in the afternoon... because bajeezauz it is cold!

I thrifted this marl sweater fairly recently, Super Saturday if I remember. It was slung up on a rack without a hanger, not in the sweater area either. I saw it! Elbow Patches! I snatched it up not bothering to look at size or anything until in the dressing room. Lo' and behold, it fit! It's got some wool fiber, so I waited to pull it out until it really got down in temps.

This outfit inspires me to share with you guys: Upcoming Buttonflowers! I ordered some buttons so I can finish off the generosity of Ally's ties, and maybe take some spare change to thrift some new ones.

  1. Congrats on your buttonflower venture! I wore mine the other day and got a ton of compliments :) And this is a great outfit, that sweater is so cute! Love your hat too. I have one very similar, but I always feel like a baglady when I put it on, lol. have a great weekend. Heather

  2. A. If you lived in MN, you could have borrowed my Sherlock cape to go with this! I'd totally lend it to you!
    B. Let me know if you'd like more ties. They are super-cheap to thrift. And I can bully my friends' husbands into giving up the ones they don't wear.
    C. Those boots? That you liked on my friend? They are actually Skechers boots from 3 years ago. I found a pair on eBay last week! I didn't buy them, tho, as I have all the boots in all the world... sigh.

  11. Adorable outfit. And there are only a small number of people who look good in hats. You, dear, are one of those lucky few. :)

  14. You are rockin' the colored tights lately! And warm fuzzy sweaters too. The weather here is so schizo...one night 49, one day 82...I can't figure out what to wear!

  16. I love the buttonflowers!

I really like this outfit - what about a flouncy petticoat type of skirt under it to combat the tight creep? The boots just kill me - so cool.

Great eye for the sweater - so hard to find ones that have a good neckline!

  17. Ya, that sweater might be one I would steal, given the chance. It's 2 degrees F here right now, with snow. Of course, I can't steal something that would decrease an outfit's Sherlockian character. Everyone needs to be awesomely badass like Holmes some days!
