Casual Weekend Round Up November

Tee - Fossil, thrifted
Cardigan - Rugged Warehouse
Jeans - NY&Co, thrifted
Shoes - gift from Mom

Every once in a while, I like to share my dressed down looks. I try to make a conscious effort during the week to dress up, but I still put care into my casual looks. The tee here was a purchase from Super Saturday. I loved the abstract design, and the red is actually embroidered on. This is actually close to how I dressed in high school, only a little more "me". I wore this to go... thrifting! I knoowww, but I had this niggling feeling that I needed to go to Goodwill.

 Snake print tee - thrifted
Jacket - H&M, thrifted
Jeans - American Eagle, gift
Shoes - Eject

This is why! I found two incredible jackets, which I am increasingly obsessed with thanks to Debbi of SheAccessorizesWell. Seriously, the only thing cooler than her accessory collection is her beautiful jacket and coat collection. I've been looking for a comfy canvas jacket since summer. It came along in the form of this H&M jacket. The weird thing is, we don't have an H&M near me. But some lovely soul who is near to my size keeps donating great pieces. I'm happy to snap them up. The other jacket will hopefully make it's debut soon.

I also found two dresses. One of which I might wear this week, the other will be my birthday dress for this year. A little confession: Having a January birthday sucked for much of my life. It usually snows, my birthday falls on a holiday (MLK Day), or people are generally busy. It's hard to celebrate winter birthdays, harder still in January, but I've decided to make it a little tradition of finding a special dress for my birthday to sweeten the day. See last year's vintage sweater dress here.

  2. Love the tee with the striped cardi. And what a great jacket too!

Sometimes my birthday falls on Memorial day weekend, while it's usually nice weather people tend to be busy, so sometimes I celebrate early or late.

  4. One can dress down and still dress well. You illustrate that nicely. Style doesn't depend on level of elegance, it depends on smart choices. Your casual clothes are as cute as your more formal ones.

  5. You look lovely! I love seeing bloggers dressed in casual clothes. As a SAHM I'm usually dressed casually & sometimes it's hard to come up with ideas.

  7. That second look is great on you! I love the jacket! And I love Debbi! She's so sweet. What great luck to find H & M pieces thrifting! We FINALLY got an H&M store in Denver (it opened last week). I CANNOT WAIT to go. But, my credit card probably can . . .

  13. Thanks for the mention, it was so sweet! Your H&M jacket is really, really cool. The detail on the pockets and the sleeves makes it unique.
My birthday falls near Thanksgiving, so I have always had my birthday celebration on Thanksgiving day. Need I say that sucks too? No birthday cake, just a turkey, HA!
