New Jacket

 Jacket - Penta, thrifted
Black Tee - Gap
Jeans - X2 Denim Laboratory, thrifted
Pearl Hart Shoes - Fluevog
Trek Pin - thinkgeek.com, gift

This picture is deceiving, Not too long after this - I was very sick. I was up most of the night sick, spent the day sick and managed to get my work done - while laying in the floor at school (on a jacket, not the bare floor, promise). I feel much better, though exhausted this evening. Things got piled on too fast, and just too overwhelming. So I'll leave this post a little short.

The jacket was recently thrifted. I'm still unsure how to really wear it. It's shiny, got shoulders, and a very bright color. I was very excited about it, but I'm still unsure. Suggestions on what to wear it with? I almost wore my pink trousers, but after Hubs gave me the scandalized look, I decided some jeans would be okay. Although, these jeans need hemming or something.

  1. Oh, ick-buckets, hon, that sucks. I hope you're feeling better.

I would do the jacket with something ultra-femme to contrast with the clean lines. A pencil skirt and your Paris Fluevogs?

BTW, LOVE the Starfleet pin on it. Heh.

  3. How about with the pink pants on the weekend when you're only going out for a short time without the hubs... I want to see them together! The safe choice is to go very simple elsewhere, but I say have fun! Oh! and red pants too!

  4. So sorry that you haven't been feeling well. Stress can be an awful thing on the body. Take good care of yourself! Now about the outfit: I think the color and sheen of this jacket is wonderful! It really is a unqiue piece and I think you did well pairing it with basic denim since it already makes a statement. I agree with Cara, since the jacket is already a bold piece, keeping it simple elsewhere is a safe bet. But it's a wonderfully fun jacket and an a great thrifting find!

  5. megan, I know exactly what you mean. I think maybe the change of seasons triggered something in me, cause I have been feeling crummy lately too. I lvoe this jacket. The way you are standing, it almost looks like there's a Star Trek emblem on it.
I like the dark jeans with the jacket.

  7. What an incredible jacket! It seems so "you!" I think pairing it with black pants or skirt would work too...although being bold with color would really make a statement!

I hope you get to feeling better soon. Sending healing thoughts your way...

  9. So many nasty colds going around. So sorry it hit you.:( Rest up. I love the jacket! So fun! I'm seeing it paired with green and yes, pink, oh and stripes. Wear it open with a striped tee, skinnies and boots. Or over a simple dress. Your jeans ate also fab. A nice fit.

  11. Ew! I hope you feel better soon! Being sick is the worst!

This jacket is pretty much amazing. Could be cool with a basic black dress or khakis or something.

  12. We have been under the weather too, so I feel your pain. It's the changing of the season and school back in session so all that nastiness rears it's ugly head.

Now for the jacket...I like it just how you styled it. But khaki, black, red would look good too!

  14. Oh, feel better soon. I'm sending healthy toughts your way.

Those gray jeans are fantastic! I think the jacket looks good with gray. You want the bright jacket to be the center of attention, so this is a good choice. Of course, I just recently wore neon pink and peacock blue together and really liked it, so maybe you should try it with your pink pants--regardless of what your husband says!

Thanks for reading my post on bullies. I can't deal with negative characters.

  15. That does look like a Star Trek insignia; is it?

The jacket is cute but a bit costumey. I don't think you can tame something like that; you have to go the other way and be extreme. Play to its boldness. Go where no blogger has gone before...
