Silk Obi

Dress - All Saints
Obi Belt - DIY project, ties c/o Ally
Shoes - Sam and Libby, thrifted

Woo! It is hothothot! [*Insert voice of Ruby Rod*] As you may be able to tell from my choice of picture place lately. I actually really love this spot in terms of lighting. No shadows, I stand on a slight incline so even wearing flats I feel tall - not to mention my friend, the tree, making weird kissy face. I spent yesterday sewing my heart out.  This is one of two obi belts I made. I originally thought the background of the gold print tie was black, but in sunlight realized it was navy. I think still think it worked great on my LBD.

This obi, or another belt or two, may be up for grabs in the future. I love it, but I haven't decided if it specifically works for my closet. Sew Sunday will give you the full rundown, but I couldn't wait to wear one of my creations today.

Speaking of creations - I got an All Saints skirt in the mail that I snagged on sale. I've been stalking it for awhile waiting for bottom dollar. Unfortunately it's a size too big, but I can sew - so I'm taking that bad boy up and plan to wear it out. I'm too in love with it to send it back.

  2. Megan Mae, I love the obi belt. Can you tell us how you made it? I see a lot of ties at the thrift store and I would love to do something like this. Love the straps on the shoes and the draping on the neck of your dress.
    Funny face on the tree!

  7. Wowza I love how you refurbished Ally's tie and gave it a new take on life! I've made a few pillows with a sewing machine but unfortunately that's about as far as my talent goes...
