I was Recognized

Dress - NY&Co, thrifted
Bandanna - gift via Mom
Pumps - John Fluevog

Let me preface this post with the fact that the blog world is full of amazing, generous people. Ally was super duper sweet and sent me a whole box of ties to use for my planned tie project. The only thing I love more than receiving snail mail is receiving boxes, and this one was full of lovely goodies that I plan on digging my creative claws into. I hardly know where to start!

For the next point of this post - I was recognized! I went to my first class (that sounds like it's going to be awesome), and when we went around the room telling our name, major, reason for being there and one interesting fact, I mentioned that I had a fashion blog. And a girl turned around and asked the name of it because she was sure she had seen it! I was very happily surprised.

Also: tree face.

  1. Megan --- that is SO cool! I am happy for you. That is one of those unexpected surprises that is SO great! And I love the way you styled this scarf! It gives me hope that maybe there is a way that I can wear scarves (okay, I know it is a bandana, but still ... )

  2. That is awesome that she recognized you! I would probably freak out if anyone recognized me or Kayla! Most of our friends and family don't even know (we are secret bloggers, ha ha)!

So nice of Ally to send you all the ties! Can't wait to see what you do with them :)

The tree face is super cool. It took me a minute to see it.

Ok, and this red dress looks amazing with the bandana! It really makes the red stand out with the colors in the bandana! Sorry to be long winded today, lol!

And wow, you're brave! I have no issue posting pictures on the net for the world to see, but admit it to real life people? Never!

  15. A cool day times 2! Ally is a very good soul and I can't wait to see what you turn them into. I'm on the hunt for a simple fairly skinny mens tie to wear this fall as an actual tie, you know the Annie Hall look. Not sure if I can pull of menswear, but I wanna give it a shot. Thrift stores here I come.

I think I might just fall over dead if anyone noticed me in real life from my blog. That is more than awesome!

Please keep us posted on the creative process my dear.

    xoxo Doreen

I tried the tie belt after reading it on another blog and it was quite easy.
I am not sure how you will be tackling your project but here is mine :)
