My inlaws are 'babysitting' my nephew's Basset Hound. She's a sweetheart, but she's still very young and hyper-active. She rushed to greet me when I got back from Goodwill and now my leg is scratched. I hope it goes down by tomorrow otherwise I'll be in pants.
I absolutely need to link you to two blogs today. Go check out Heather at Style Journey in a super chic outfit with an adorable cherry pin. While you're at it, check out Ee's new hair over at Eek!, so freaking cute.

I hadn't noticed in the tutorial that you'd left the scalloped/shaped/whatever you call it hemline on the shirt! It just add more interest, and even though you can't tell it's a man's shirt (at least from pictures), there's something uncanny about how it seems so familiar!
ReplyDelete@ Cara - There's a very small detail at the sides with the "Born" brand symbol in it that I couldn't bear to hem off, plus in motion it gives the skirt a nice A-line shape that I was pretty happy with. And I totally know what you mean. I think the shirt was meant to be a skirt.
ReplyDeleteSo impressed that skirt resulted from a DIY project. How creative! Looks like a great piece for the summer and I bet you can easily turn it into something useable for fall as well. And the colors of that top go wonderfully with it. Adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out Megan! That has been one of my favorite outfits in a long time.
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed that you made this skirt from a shirt! It is great and I can see you remixing this a lot. The moccasins are super cute too. I really need to get a pair!
Aww, thanks for the lurve!
ReplyDeleteYour skirt looks amazing. I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again - you have got some mad skills!
P.S. Bassett hound puppies are so cute, even if they are too hyper, no?
@ Ee - Crazy adorable. She may get returned without her ears because I might just keep them for myself. ;D
ReplyDeleteI really, really love the skirt! You did an awesome job with it! The top looks perfect with it.. and it all looks extremely comfy as well, especially in this heat. :)
ReplyDeleteBasset Hounds are adorable!! I love all puppies.. :)

Oooh, I want to see the hound!
ReplyDelete@ Wendy - I'll try to get pics if he hasn't picked her up too early. I didn't even think about it today. I was too busy playing with her.
ReplyDeleteLoving this look and I love how your hair blends with the color of the shoes haha.. Ouch on the scratch!
ReplyDeleteLove!...Angel
The skirt turned out great, and looks cute with at top. You might want to pin or add an invisible snap between the two top buttons of the skirt though, to helpwith the slight gaping
