Military VS Feminine. I didn't really have a lot of "military" pieces. I've wanted a canvas jacket, don't own cargoes or anything really military. Until I came across these incredible capri pants at Goodwill a couple weeks ago. They have these awesome button and braid details. Less modern military, but still counts, I think. Added a lace top, my shredded All Saints vest, and my loverly harness. The harness is military right? The Doodle didn't turn out exactly like the final outfit. It rained, cooling the day off to allow for layers. Which in my opinion is a good thing. I've had a number of inquiries about my Doodles, so I've decided to put up a page here to explain about them.

I always wonder about stuff like that though for me... afraid that I wouldn't be able to pull it off. Most of the time I get these really cool items, then from fear, they sit in my closet. lol

I love that harness! We recently had an All Saints open in Chicago and several of their belts look like the one you have on...but we're talking $200+ eeeeeeek! Very nice take on military and girl!
ReplyDeleteFor not having many military-type pieces in your closet, I think this turned out great! The colors work great and that harness is really the vocal point of the outfit. And the lace peeking out really brings back that softer side to the trend. Thanks for sharing! This challenge has been so fun!

I love the harness! It totally works with this. I actually considered buying cargo pants for this challenge, until I remembered that I had a jacket that was military-inspired.

I made a rule when I got back from the wedding/honeymoon that I would only skim blogs and not comment. Starting Monday, I'd jump back in with both feet. I just needed a strategy to make it through my reader AND keep up the newlywed magic. However, I saw this outfit and went: "Well Damn! I have to tell her how fabulous this is!" I love it the juxtaposition of tones of each item!
