Top - Michael Michael Kors, thrifted Skirt - thrifted Belt - Kenneth Cole Flats - United Nude |
I love love love the idea of this outfit. Bright cyan blue with marigold yellow, full skirt with circle designs throughout. But honestly this whole thing made me so uncomfortable. I rejoiced when I found this NWT Michael Kors top in a golden yellow, thinking it would be the perfect match for this sore thumb of a skirt and a dozen other things in my closet. I was excited. So much so that I didn't bother trying it on. I wish I had because the one shoulder thing? Definitely not for me. I felt 'exposed' until I got home and changed.
But this is good news for anyone interested in a swap, because both items can be found in my Swap Stop now. Ah well, live and learn.

I always fall victim to this scenario! But, if it's any consultation, you look smashing in it! (Though that doesn't very much matter when you feel uncomfortable)
ReplyDeleteIt is too ad that you felt uncomfortable, since you looked really pretty. Hopefully someone else will give them a good home.
ReplyDeleteAw, I think you look fantastic! But if you don't feel that way, it's always better to get rid of it. I do love that skirt and the shoes with the yellow top.

Love that skirt!! Too bad, I haven't been a size 2 in about 14 years... :(
ReplyDeleteYou do look really cute in it though!
I'd be tempted to swap for the white skirt - but we're in the middle of a postal strike and I'm about 90% sure that if I came home with another skirt, Scott would have my head. Glad you're choosing to stick with things that make you feel more you!!
ReplyDeleteYour post title is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI still really like this skirt on you. It looks great with the yellow top and blue shoes.
I like the asymmetric blouse. Great mix of color too...sorry you weren't feeling it today!
ReplyDelete*I* think you look cute in one-shouldered, but I know that I would feel completely naked and awkward so I feel your pain. Funny how I'll wear the shortest skirt that I can find without being completely indecent but the thought of showing my arms and shoulders make me cringe!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable! However, being uncomfortable is never good. At least you didn't pay retail for them. I do love the golden rod with the aqua. Such a great combo. I think I will make a swap page this week. And I need to email you with fashion challenge ideas.
ReplyDelete@ Keely - Yeah, one of best things about thrifting is the ability to just try anything. Granted I make sure to always do it as cheaply as possible (99p days) and make sure I also buy wearable things that aren't as much of a challenge. Toss me an email when you can.
ReplyDeleteHi there-shame you don't feel comfy, the colours are lovely in this outfit! x
ReplyDeleteYou gave it the old college try, and more power to you! I hope you keep the skirt, though. It's so cute and summer-y.
ReplyDeleteOh, but it looks SO pretty on you! Glad you gave it a shot, at least.
