Strawberry Swirl

Dress - All Saints
Belt - thrifted
Lela Rose Wedges - Payless
Bag - Tyler Rodan

Today was errand day. I had to go and pick up my (second pair of) Fluevog boots up from the shoes repair place!! They were on sale at the same time as my yellow ones and in the same size from another seller. They were also a significantly cheaper BIN. As soon as I got the yellows one in the mail and tried them on - I immediately ordered the other ones. They needed new heel caps and a little TLC to the toes, but $17 later they're good as new**. If not better because they're already broken in. My Fluevog obsession only grows.

I normally never buy multiples - not even in camis - but these boots really struck a cord in my heart. They remind me fit and feel of my beloved Chuck Taylors. I wore only Chucks from grades 7 to 12. I didn't even bother with any other shoes. I owned something like 9 pairs. So I ordered the black 'vogs too. Oops!

After dropping off some forms to the college,  I decided since it's hitting the 90s today that we needed ice cream. Hubs got himself some banana and coconut (1/2 pint each) to take home and I ate my pistachio on the way home. This dress is my 'ice cream dress'. It's swirled neckline reminds me of how those swirled ice cream cones look.

** Remember that if your favorite pair of shoes are looking a little beat up, a good shoe repair place can replace heel caps, fix buckles, exchange heels, even do some repairs you might not thought possible. So don't give them up, have them fixed!

  1. That boots are fantastic, and the colors are so different that they don't seem like multiples.

  2. ahhh .. I like this post, and reminding people that they can fix their shoes! I think that I might start adding one recycling/reusing/reducing or upcycling tip on my blog every day. I've been trying to think of something that I could add in a fun way, and that might work for me. I have scouted out some really neat uses for things so I don't end up throwing them away.

  3. @ Kari - I think that's a great blog goal. I can always use new tips to get the best bang for my buck.

  4. I went with reese's peanut butter cup ice cream today...mmmmm!

Is that the same belt as yesterday? If so, the two looks are definitely different! This dress looks as good as ice cream!!

  5. Wow, the cowl neck on the dress really takes it to the next level. I'm way into this look!

  6. @ Cara - Yep, same belt! I suppose I'm doing a recycle week. I wore the same shoes two days in a row, now the same belt.

  7. Those boots are all sorts of fabulous. I can see why you would want a pair in black and one in a fun color like yellow. I definitely need to try a pair of Fleuvogs!

  8. Love. This. Dress. And I especially love the pop in the belt!

I've never thought to have shoes repaired. That's a good point, thanks!

  9. Gaa! I LOVE this dress! I know I've seen you wear it as a top before, but don't know if I've seen it on it's own! It's so cute and looks comfortable too! I must find a similar one!

Good call on the cobbler! Mine is a Ukrainian dude named Alex who cracks me up! He fixed a leather jacket and leather purse for me too, which was amazing!

  10. Thank you for the reminder - I have a pair of shoes I bought in Sheila's neck of the woods.... in 1990! They need a wee bit of love, but have held up remarkably well!

Thanks for reading. Got something to say? I'd love to hear it!
