Floral Effusion

 Bolero - Unknown, thrifted
Orange! Dress - NY&Co, thrifted
Shoes -Fly London

Yep, I'm pulling out this sweater again. It was almost too warm today anyway, even though it was rainy and windy. The last time I wore this - someone suggested I wear a floral dress for spring with it. This is a problem for two reasons - Spring in TN is hot. There are cool days, but it's either cold enough for a coat or warm enough for a jacket (not sweater). This is a very thick wool sweater.

And problem two - I don't wear florals. I've tried. They just aren't for me. It doesn't matter if they're ditsy, abstract or look like a grandmother's couch, I can't do it. They flow through my closet and into the donation bags like a bad leak. So I compromised today and wore bright springy colors in a warm gradient. Today's alternative title is: Pumpkin, Persimmon, and Pepper.

  2. I get the floral thing. I've just opened up to abstract florals because I can consider them "dots"

How does the bolero pair with the star shirt you were wearing the other day? I'm picturing it with the Dragoon boots and jeans. But I may also be crazy!

I do like this outfit, though, too! I love the gradation of the orange to red. And the alliteration!

  4. I would have never put these colors together - but you make them work!

  5. @ Cara - Haha! Well both items are wool blends, but I will keep the combo in mind for next winter if we get frigid temps again. I actually think they would pair well together for when I need a snuggly outfit.

  6. I love the colours together here. Nicely done!

I would do the cardi with a pair of high-waisted wide-legged trousers. Does the Audi harness work with this?

  7. @ Sheila - I don't think the proportions would work for wearing over, but it might just fit perfectly under it. I am so putting the trousers on the list though. I've got a really good text based list of outfits going for next fall/winter!!

  9. I love the outfit, and the alliteration in the title! I'm so envious that you're moving toward springlike weather. We're supposed to have more snow on Friday. Sigh.

  13. Really great color combo. I actually surprised myself when I realized I do like florals (not all the time... but it's definitely something I'm drawn to). And it's no fun when the weather doesn't cooperate with an outfit! This is a great look though! :)
