Rain Rain

 Tee - Old Navy
Cardigan - Rugged Warehouse
Scarf - Hot topic
Jeans - Fire Brand, swap
Boots - Miz Mooz, ebay

It's dreary and rainy. I can't even think of anything to say today. The outfit is layered to keep me warm. My big coat is going over all this. What do you do when it's cold, dark and dreary?

Bombshell Monday

Sweater - Express
Skirt - Kohls
Boots - Miz Mooz, via endless

I love this skirt. It always makes me feel feminine and sexy, even after the Thanksgiving feasting. It's ladylike Monday. I could have probably used some tights or thick wool socks today, brr! I'm highly lucky to have a teacher that is having class 30 minutes late today. Gives me a bit more time to get myself together before heading off to class.

I ended up going shopping at two different places yesterday. We recently had a Burke's outlet open in town. I stopped by there and Belk. Not sure if I feel fashionably blocked or if I'm just really underwhelmed by what my local stores offer. I might try stopping by Rugged before or after class, and maybe I can talk the Hubs into taking me out for lunch. Hah! It's amazing that it really slows down for us after the holidays.

Weasley Sweater (Dress)

Happy Black Friday! I had the most awesome filled Thanksgiving ever. I set off early in the morning to help my mom cook.  We ate lunch. Then D, my mom, her room mate and I piled into the car for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! The movie was fantastic. The food fantastic.

I started out the day in my Slytherin tee and jeans. I didn't want to cook in my sweater dress that I was wearing to the movies. This sweater dress is the original reason for my first order to All Saints. It just screamed "Weasley Sweater" to me. (For those not Potter-nerds, a character's mom knits sweaters for all the family as Christmas gifts). I nabbed this over the summer on sale and have been absolutely dying to wear it ever since. I knew today would be perfect.

You'll notice a few things around my blog. I've added pages within the last week, including a bio, information about ads and where to contact me. I've also edited my blog name. If you want to know why, please read my post about 7 secrets. The URL will currently stay the same, other than some minor tweaks on my end, it should not affect my followers. D and I also had the opportunity to have a slightly longer photoshoot today for my new banner. We were really lucky to get it done before the torrential rains that came down only hours later.

If you celebrated Thanksgiving, I hope you had a great one. Will you be participating in Black Friday? Or, god-forbid, working it?

Reprieve

 Top - etsy
Jeans - LOFT
Scarf - DIY scrap material

Nothing fancy or frilly. No belts, no baubles. My favorite shirt, comfy jeans and comfortable shoes. Today is my one real day of reprieve. D's parents are heading to my SIL's in Georgia. I'm making a delicious steak dinner and enjoying the rain. I don't have to worry about school, being somewhere on time, or well anything at all. I am thankful for today.

Looking out

 Print top - NY&Co
L/S top - swap
Cords - rummage sale
Harness - AudraJean etsy
Boots - Gianni Bini, gift

Lookout for some updates. I'll probably be coming up with a winter themed banner and doing a blog name change. If you read my 7 secrets post, you'll know why. The URL won't change so nothing but stuff on my end will change. I'll probably be doing this over my long weekend.

I've actually worn this outfit before. It was on a weekend where I didn't post. I wanted to give it another wear tonight for class. Lucky me, I get to go eat Cracker Barrel. *nomnomnom* The top is really burgundy, it photographed pinky today. It's a bit earlier than I usually take pictures. I think these pants need to be hemmed. They're made for somebody 5'10" not 5'2".

Stocking Time

Tee - from Keely
Dress - All Saints
Belt - TJMaxx
Pumps - Poetic License, ebay

I'm wearing my Christmas gifts early! Bad Megan... Lol! Last night it was 78F in our house. Today is warm enough I figured I could wear this light cotton/modal dress with tights and be happy. I finally got footy pads in those shoes. I could have almost gone without the tights today, but I love their pattern.

I can't believe I've still got classes this week. Oh well, I'm off to trudge through today's. 3 more Monday classes to go after today. I don't have much to say today other than holy cow it's November and hot. Did somebody say global warming?... How was your weekend? Are you experiencing weird weather too?

Dots and Stripes

Red polka dot cami - NY&Co
Stripe Cardi - Rugged Warehouse
Belt - Kenneth Cole
Jeans - Ann Taylor Loft
Shoes - Fly London, amazon

I'll be posting from Sunday to Thursday this week. I really should be working on my book report, but I figured a quick outfit post would give me a break.

I love this outfit for it's subtlety. The red top has polka dots, the buttons and belt closure are circles. The cardigan has big stripes and my socks have little stripes. I didn't have this outfit in mind one bit. I was actually planning to wear my blue cardigan, but happy accident. D totally caught me talking in my photos.

I'm already going a bit crazy with preparations for this week. D and I will be going to my mom's for Thanksgiving lunch and then to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. If you're in the US, what are your Turkey Day plans?

7 Little Secrets

 Sweater - Rugged Warehouse
Tee - Mossimo, thrifted
Shorts - F21
Boots - Miz Mooz October, ebay
Yes I've been wearing these boots everyday since they came in the mail. I lurve them.

The marvelous Melrose tagged me in her "7 Confessions," so now it's my turn! And as per protocol I attempt to  tag 7 bloggers as well!

1. I stay up really late to watch certain shows.. At one point I was staying up all night to watch re-runs of Angel and Charmed on TNT at 3am to 6am. Currently I'm watching Star Trek: Next Gen at 1am as a compromise. I don't watch as much tv as I used to, and I miss it. D= I'm such a tv junkie.

2. I'm soooo not a dog person. I had nearly every animal (that could live in an apartment) growing up as a kid, except a dog. I dislike their need for 'pack mentality', and I'm currently living with my in-laws who have an extremely aggressive and stinky dog. I have grown to like my friends' dogs, especially my friend M's golden retriever who recently passed away from cancer. Bless his little heart. I always try to give dog's the benefit of the doubt, but any future home of mine will 99% have kittens.

3. Since I wear glasses all the time, I got prescription sunglasses - but I always feel like the biggest jerk if I have to go into a store and leave them on to actually... well, see.

4. I don't have any 'vices'. It's not really a confession, but I don't smoke, drink or any 'extra's. Being a supertaster/intense sense of smell, I can't stand the smells or tastes. I guess my biggest vice is I always use real sugar, real butter and full fat milk.

5. I have wasted entire days playing facebook games. I know they're pointless, most of my friends don't play them, but I've spent at least a whole day on two separate occasions playing a FB game. (Even Sims3 would be a better waste of time! And I own that game!)

6. Despite my "engrish" blog name and art style that tends toward anime style, I'm actually not a big anime/Japan fan. I used to be and "waifu" was part of an inside joke that led to my screen name of "Supa Waifu X". It sort of stuck, but I almost wish I had picked a different blog name because I'm not sure it really represents me who I am today.

7. Even though the seasons in Tennessee are split pretty evenly, I am a bootaholic. I am more worried about shoes in the winter because I get the winter-blues. I don't always love having to layer up to keep from freezing. I get bored with my winter clothing since I don't have as much of it and in the past haven't worn many dresses when it's cold... so having a good shoe, boot and belt collection has become my way of fighting the wintery blues and clothing boredom..

Friend Friday - Copycat

1. What are the 'unwritten rules' about coping content that we bloggers should all abide by?

Credit. Credit. Credit. If you find a fabulous idea, bookmark and give credit to the sources. It doesn't hurt to toss a little hyperlink leading back to your source. You wouldn't yank quotes for a paper without proper credit - same thing with fashion.

2. They say imitation is the highest form of flattery. But when it a post imitation and when is it copying?

The fashion blog world has introduced me to many new forms of style. I've found things I'm deeply in fashion-love with. I would have never progressed in my style without trying out different things and learning from the experience. I infrequently do "Inspired by Blogger" posts where I attempt to directly draw inspiration from a specific outfit.

I think it's petty to consider fashion copying. I grew up with some very petty "friends" who would try to keep me and each other from "copying" "their" music. By that I mean, my friends would find awesome bands and try to talk and name drop about their favorite music, but refuse to actually introduce you to it. Bands wouldn't be big and popular if not for the fans. Same thing for fashion companies. They would not exist without the clients. Taking it one step further, why even have a fashion blog if not to share your love of a designer or brand and how it works within your style?

3. Taking another blogger's idea (perhaps for an outfit, or DIY tutorial) is pretty common in the blogging world. Do you think it is necessary to credit the original source?

Yes!YES! Like I said above, give credit where credit is due. I think for a tutorial, link to the original source. If you have a different way of doing it, then make the tutorial yourself but credit the original idea.

I found LinkedIn on numerous other blogs. It's a great way to let people checking out the blog to see older posts. I noticed more people added the widget after I did - that's an area that I believe doesn't receive crediting for the idea of use. I know many people use wibiya toolbar. I didn't prefer it, but if I did.. well that's a program created for bloggers and the only credit due is to the creators of it.

4. How have you improved your blog by comparing it to other bloggers? Have you made changes due to something you have seen others doing?

Absolutely. I worked my blog layout based on what I liked about other blogger's layouts. I took what I found to be the easiest interface and tagging system. I've taken advice on picture taking. I'm learning to narrow my perspective on the blog. At least I'm trying.

5. Have you ever had one of your posts copied by another blogger or publication? How did you handle the situation?

If this is copied in a sense of straight up taken from my blog? I have not had that happen. I have had other bloggers mention me or credit me for idea usage but in those cases I am beyond flattered. A good percentage of my blog traffic is from other blogger's referral through either their posts or their blogroll.

If someone lifted my content to claim it was them - I'd call them out on it, but if someone wanted to use my pictures or posts as a linked and credited reference I have no problem with that.
