Early Week Wrap Up

 Tunic, Tee, Jeans - Swapped
Boots - Miz Mooz, ebay

Christmas is now in full swing for me. Monday was full of friends. My friend, S, took me and Hubs out for dinner and presents. I got a Nook!! I'm crazy excited about it.

Today was spent out shopping. It wasn't intended, but I went along with MIL and wound up shopping all day. The above picture was my outfit for the day. I didn't realize until I was out the door that everything except the boots were from swapping with Keely! Sorry about the lighting. Nighttime indoor pictures, yuck! I'm hoping for a new camera one of these days.

I may be here and gone, off and on all week. Things should settle down later this week once plans begin to stabilize.

  1. Wonderful coat!

How do you like the Nook? Considering getting one for the boy. Is yours color or b/w? Pros and cons?

    Call Me Ishmael

  2. @ Pamela - I love it. I got the b/w model since I want to be able to read in sunlight or bright light. It's crazy easy to use. The touch screen can be a little slow sometimes compared to other touch screens I've used.

If he reads a lot, it's worth it. Especially if he reads new releases, books in hardback are like $12.99 instead of ~26+.

My only cons are the b/w version needs a light source to read, and the machine itself can be a little heavy. Otherwise I love it.

  3. The weirdo lady at B&N mentioned something about the Nook being hooked up with the L.A. public library. Do you have something like that for your area and if so, how does that work? If not, ignore me!

  4. I love that tunic on you, especially layered over the longer sleeves and the fitted jeans! And the boots are just the icing on the cake. FABULOUS outfit!

How exciting you got a Nook! And that's such a sweet picture of you and the hubby :) I hope you're having a wonderful pre-Christmas week!

  5. @ Pamela - Noot that I know of. If you hear more about that though, please let me know. I do know the Nook works on Wi-fi and you can browse BN while you're in store and read samples on the screen. (OH! And in my Nook I got a 'coupon' for a free smoothie from the cafe, just show them my Nook!)

@ Shygirl - Thankyou ♥ Hope you are too!

  6. So cute! I never would have paired those three items together, so I love seeing you style my clothes. It makes me rethink my current closet and how I can mix it up.

How exciting - a Nook! My mom got a Kindle this year. She loves it.

  7. Very nice look for a structured tunic! and great for a hectic day.

re: indoor flash shots - do you do any photo editing? GIMP is a free, downloadable photo editor which i've been using for a few months. good online help-book. you can use the 'color balance' feature to adjust the colors so it doesn't look so yellow and weird....anyways, if you're interested send me an e-mail or comment at my site, i'd be happy to let you know more.

happy end of the year! steph

  8. @ tinyjunco - I have photoshop, this is actually the "after" color balance and using the contrast/brightness lol! I just really needed a flash or extra light source in the house. Thanks though!

  9. Congratulations on getting the Nook! That's pretty awesome!! And yay for spending time with friends! And I totally understand about indoor shoots at night! We do what we can! (Oh, and about the photo location from my last post: We've gone there several times before, and this was the most crowded its been, I think it was a combination of day of the week, time of day, and a break in some unpleasant weather. I suspect(hope) the picture taking was more unusual than me, I suspect(hope) no one thought twice about my appearance! :) ).

And your outfit is super cute!! I love the print on that tunic! And those boots are always fabulous! :)

  10. i just stumbled onto your blog, and i'm loving your style! seriously. it's getting my creative juices flowing already. (that's not creepy, is it, to mention "juices" to a stranger? because, i swear, i'm not a creepy person...)
p.s. i just started a little fashion blog about 2 weeks ago and would love for you to come by/follow if you want. http://adayinlifetoo.blogspot.com i document my daily outfits, but here's the clincher: i can't buy one stitch of new clothing for the rest of 2010. that's right. it's on-the-edge-of-your-seat exciting. come on by! if you think you can handle it, that is... :) but either way, have a wonderful week.

Thanks for reading. Got something to say? I'd love to hear it!
